Saca said Sunday that while he supports sending a new wave of troops, he's not yet ready to make a decision.
El Salvador, with 380 troops now in Iraq, is the only Western Hemisphere country with soldiers still aiding the United States in Iraq. Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic withdrew their troops.
Six Salvadoran soldiers helped fight off an ambush March 5 and were credited with saving the lives of six Coalition Provisional Authority personnel. The United States awarded them with the Bronze Star."
