15. That's my thinking on the matter, too.
He knows too much, and also Bush needs him.

3. Kerry and some other Democrats were calling for it so there is
no way Shrub would do it.

4. Because Kerry said Rummy has to go TWICE, and Bush didn't want to look bad
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 09:32 AM by blm
during the campaign, so they continued to lie and say that everything was going fine and Rummy had nothing to do with what was going bad. The press let them get away with it.

5. Deep down George W Bush is a coward and needs someone
...else to always be there to take the blame when something goes wrong.

13. Agreed, except...
There's no "deep down" about Chimpy's cowardice. It's as plain as day unless you're blind. Unfortunately, Kool-Aid apparently causes blindness.

:grr:

6. You'd first have to assume that Rummy did indeed.......
try to resign, which I don't buy at all.

If he actually wanted out, he would be out.

7. To let Rummy quit over the Abu Graib torture would...
be seen as admitting it went to the top and it was wrong and the bush cabal is NEVER wrong ergo Rummy stays.

8. That's it exactly. To accept Rummy's resignation would mean that
you admit mistakes were made. Bush does not admit to mistakes.

10. Letting Rummy quit would mean admitting a mistake
And he's incapable, due to his immense insecurity as the idiot son of an accomplished father.

12. I don't believe he offered to resign in the first place
That's just a cover story.

Think about it. The only source for the story is Rummy.

16. Rummy was to be the fall guy in case the Iraqi elections were a disaster.
He still could go if we have a really bad day in Iraq.
