While I understand your mortification, I have to admit that I believe that a hijacked election, lies tailored to specific groups, a corporate world that buys elections, and a generalized slide into fascism warrants more than embarrassment. If the U.S. wants to keep a democracy, a whole lot of people need to wake up and start agitating.

I must admit that I'm rather pleased that others throughout the world do NOT see Bush as an icon for a legitimate president of the U.S.

I think the foreign press has been picking up on this faster than the national corporate media --surprise, surprise. More evidence is being gathered and the fact that this slime stole the election and then brags about bringing "democracy" to countries he invades will focus that more attention on his administration. They will catch on: WE DID NOT ELECT HIM. The word from before the election was that far more Europeans hated b** than hated Americans in general. Then they blamed us for "choosing " him and his policies in the election. I think their attitude toward Americans will be impacted by realization that we are victims of a coup.

With the input of other DUers in that thread, we eventually came up with 10 excellent independent reasons supporting the perfection of the match. The OP in the link gives the online dictionary definition, which includes multiple meanings all of which are delicious. I don't want to spoil it for you, let's just say it's a term used in the military and by computer scientists in nonideal circumstances. Be sure to read ALL the definitions! And the additional nuances suggested in the replies in the thread linked to above are not to be missed, either.

I've been thinking of reposting on this definition, because it's a real relief to call that slime something that really fits him to the ground and incorporates so many meaningful nuances. Maybe I should, as a DU public service!

I personally believe both pictures are disgraceful to our nation.
The first one as using the cross in such a manner and esp the one using our Statue of Liberty in such a way.

I personally think both pictures represent disgraces of two Presidents -- not a disgrace to your nation. IMO: Those floats are very well executed and pointed criticisms of fundamental (pardon) weaknesses with both Blivet** and Bubba.

The provocative use of the two symbols you mention is intended to get your attention and make you think. Maybe they were only 50% effective in your case.

12. Actually, I would think Christians should be concerned by the symbolism

Using the cross Jesus died on as a weapon to kill is so very appropriate as a symbol for the horrors that this slime has done in the name of God and with the support of the wingnut funamentalists. It's TRUE. He's in effect using religion as a weapon and smirking while he's doing it.

Why do so many believe he is a good representative for Christianity? Beats me. :shrug:

I wonder when more of the Christians in this country will become LOUDER AND MORE ACTIVIST in their outrage at what the blivet** has done. There are many Christian and other religious groups who oppose him, but the volume needs to be turned up and far more pressure needs to be put on Congress.

I guess it demonstrates what happens when you cross two horrible people like Babs and Poppy. You get a blivet who grows up to become the blivet**, the most hated man in the world. His brothers are real peaches too. I don't know about the sister who died - one of the charming decisions of the family (said to be by the oh-so-loving female parental unit) was to basically just stop talking about her. Sweet family.

Now the blivet** has crossed with Pickles to produce Jenna and Not-Jenna. Early indications with these offspring are not encouraging.
