to take funds from the poor and give more to the rich. He's a reverse Robin Hood. Robbing Hood, maybe.

15. We called Reagan "Ronnie Hood"
because he stole from the poor to give to the military.

I keep telling you, we've all got to start calling the right on the one thing they know deep down but don't think we know: they're UNCHRISTIAN.

4. No. I don't feel that way.
I'll admit, that he's a moron (or morAn, as we say here on DU) but, he's not a failure to his base.

Drive up deficits so that you can cut out federal programs? Done.

Start a war to feed the corporate war machine that's run by your cronies? Done.

w* is nothing but a figurehead. He's a robot. So, I don't feel superior to anyone. But I pity the poor and lower-middle class people who support him. They're cutting their own throats.

9. And the uninformed and insecure hate to admit that they're wrong.
You know, I've had the pleasure to work for a couple of topnotch organizations in the last 10 years and there is one simple thing that sets them apart from the rest of places I've worked.

They admit when they don't know and they admit when they're wrong. It's as simple as that.

10. Down in Georgia, a hotbed of W lovers, some of the budget
cuts were listed in the paper today. Among them: -60 C130 airplanes,
-100 F22 fighter planes, 15,000 farms that will have significantly reduced subsidies, CDC will have to postpone building planes plus
100's of thousands of other Georgians who will be directly impacted by the "austere" (meaning to pay for Iraq ) budget.

How much longer will those folks with the "W" stickers on the windows
continue to think that they did the right thing by electing the idiot to office? I hope they enjoy the notion that maybe in 15 years, abortion will be more difficult to get (won't matter, because no drugs will make them unnecessary) and that gay people might have a more difficult time putting their lives together. Oh yes, and they will be able to continue to say prayers at school, which they already could do.

People. Wake up and take stock. What has Bush done for you and your family?

19. Just like the American Civil War. The middle and lower income
whites in the South paid dearly to defend the rights of rich land owners to use slaves. They called themselves "preserving their way of life". Maybe they dreamed of becoming slave owners some day just as the white right wingers of modest means dream of becoming rich.

I don't begrudge them of their dreams. But, I wish that they has some safer ways to express their hopes than to back crooks like Bush.

20. There are a hell of a lot more RED voters in CA than in GA!
Hellooo...check the real numbers. It's not a RED STATE issue. NY has far more RED voters than does NC.

Over extrapolating on a model that is only valid to show the electoral votes only serves the idea that Bush has a mandate.

Please refer to RED VOTERS rather than RED states.
Thank You.

BLUE VOTER in NC :)

25. Calm down. I only mentioned Georgia because it's where I
live and where I see the multitudes of Republican voters. In my county election, the only Democrats on the entire ballot were Kerry and Edwards. I'm not sure what I said that set you off. As I read about the proposed budge cuts in the AJC this morning, I thought about all of these workers out at Lockheed in Marietta and the 15,000 Georgia farmers who will lose, big time as a result of Bush's policies.

So far as California is concerned: I'm sure all will suffer there as well.

You emphasize that it isn't a RED/BLUE issue. But, the fact is that the red votes have dictated the misery to us all.

28. Don't tell me to "calm down" that is condescending
I said, it is not a RED STATEBLUE STATE issue. Using that oversimplified model is destructive to Democrats.

You made the inaccurate claim that GA will suffer more than Northern states, when in fact, there are more RED voters in CA than in GA.

I wish people would realize how inaccurate it is to use that Rovian designed model.

I also asked nicely. :D

31. I didn't say that Georgians would suffer more.
I never said anything about red and blue states.

I only said that there were lots of people driving around in the Marietta Ga. area who voted for Bush, who are going to pay for their
unwise votes.

I don't know where you are getting this Rovian model stuff. But, it's not coming from me. I was only describing what I was seeing in my area.

Regarding California: Of course there are more Red votes in Ca.

What's your point? Their votes didn't count in the 2004 election.

Hey, if you are annoyed by my remarks, you must go nuts when you read something by someone who isn't on your side.

11. Sorta...
but only because I stay well-informed and try to check in here as often as I can. reprehensor feeds me the rest when I don't.

I'm STILL flabbergasted when I talk to regular folks and we got started talking about politics or somesuch.

Just the other day, I was meeting with my Jenny Craig counselor. I mentioned how much I freaking hate Bush and everything he's doing. "What's so bad about him?"

I still hear this, and makes me so bleeping angry. I can't understand how people can be so ill-informed. I mean-- this woman isn't even informed enough to have right-wing opinions she's gotten from the RW media. She just doesn't pay attnetion.

So I gently explained some of what is going on. She couldn't believe it. So I directed her to the internet for her news, and told her, "And for God's Sake, don't watch Fox News." She promised she wouldn't.

29. First....
I told her that anything she hears that talks about the "liberal media" is crap. I mentioned that there was this thing called "The Fairness Doctrine" that Reagan got rid of, and how the "news" she hears is owned by big corporations that give lots of money to Conservatives.

Her brows wrinkled for a second. "Does that sound right to you?" I asked.

"Not really." she said.

"These companies are under no obligation to give you facts. They give you SLANTED OPINIONS that liberals are bad. They only feed you waht they want you to hear."

She asked about some of the negative stuff she'd heard about Kerry before the election. I said. "This stuff was brought to you ON those networks, by people who supported Bush. Kerry is a decorated war hero. Bush did not serve in Vietnam. He got his dad to get him into the National Guard, and then went AWOL during that time. Does that sound right to you? That ads can be run saying what a bad guy Kerry is and the president got out of fighting?"

This definitely got her attention. So I gave her some Websites on which she should be getting her news. This being one.

Hopefully it will do some good.

18. He is not a moron.
Hi is evil however. And it's too bad that he's not a moron. If he were maybe he wouldn't have been so successful so far. But the fact is that he knows exactly what he is doing.

His plan all along was to go into Iraq and go through billions of dollars in the process.

Then after that he turns around and mutters that there is no money for domestic programs. Then he cuts the hell out of every domestic program such as Head Start and school lunch programs like he is proposing now. He says he has to make the cuts in these programs so that he can try to reduce the deficit.

He knows that he could never get away politically with killing these programs outright, so instead he starves them in the name of fiscal responsibility.

He wants to return us to the America of the 1920's before FDR brought in the New Deal. That's also why he is trying to destroy Social Security.

So there is nothing moronic about Bush. But that fact makes him all the more dangerous.

23. Crazy like a fox
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks GWB is not really a moron. I'd agree that he's not "educated smart" and I expect he has a shallow understanding of issues. However, his record seems to indicate a fair degree of street smarts. I think his bumbling speech is his biggest asset because it comforts those who are suspicious of "high fallootin talk".

35. yup, and the proof of it is
that since the election he has changed his demeanor a bit--seems more subdued, less "on". I don't think he is a smart man by any stretch, but he has "people smarts" and a firm belief in his own ideology, and is aggressive it pushing it. But there are many many ways that he is deficient as a leader.

He is cold-hearted and callous. He is willfully ignorant about anything that would threaten his own grasp of reality. He is too reckless and irresponsible to lead a country. And he is far, far too willing to lie and deceive to get what he wants. He plays favorites with people and bullies them. He has never known real suffering, and doesn't have the ability to empathize with those who do. He may be president, but he is a terrible leader.

22. Sure but I have learned that intelligence haslittle to do with gullibility
Especially the "self-interested" gullibility which leads to the anti-Christianity practiced by most Busheviks.

Someone once said, "I a person's livelihood depens on them making a certain mistake, expect them to make that same mistake over and over and over..."

Not all Busheviks are stupid. Some are gullible people of low intelligence. Some are gullible people of medium or high intelligence. Some have convinced themselves of lies the way OJ convinced himself he didn't kill his wife and perhaps a few (of the leaders) cynically recognize exactly what they are doing and don;t care.

But those who marvel at the "low intelligence" of the Busheviks miss the point entirely. Under a different set of circumstances & lies, ANYONE can become a Totalitarian Slave.

Even us.

We are not superior. We just happen to be the side representing Liberty and the Enlightenment this time around.

In Russia, the Liberals (as hated by their Tyrants there as we are hated by ours here in Imperial Amerika) are on the Right.

Look it up.

24. I am so upset over these cuts to social programs
1.3 MILLION more fell into povertly last year, thanks to Bush and at least that many more will fall into poverty by next year.

In our state, among other things, vocational programs are being slashed. For many, this is their only way out of poverty to learn the skills that will take them to a job that pays beyond minimum wage, like plumber, electrician, medical transcriber, etc.

Bush apparently believes he has 'dominion over all of the creatures of the earth', including those of us who earn under $200,000, 95% of Americans.

This is so sad. Every day brings more bad news.

26. more from the midwest. Exactly how would you know it?
I am 43 and when I was growing up we had watergate and we had the vietnam war protests and we had reporters who ... well... reported.

I now live in a town with a little over 50 thousand. We have a newspaper that is owned by Gannett News, we have a radio dial that is owned by the right and tons of people here can not afford or do not want cable or internet access. So they are left with network tv news.

Have you ever seen an article in the mainstream press that even eludes to the fact that our pres is a nimrod? That's right you haven't. Likewise you are not told that he lies, that by the way outright lying to congress is an impeachable offense, and by the way, he's lying again. For many folks, if it is not in the paper or on the tv news, it simply isn't an issue, even when their real-life world does not equal what they are hearing.

Control the information and you control the minds.
