Apparently .... Ken Blackwell is being pushed for Gov. by the Right
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/2/7/181930.shtml
From: Paul Weyrich; published on Newsmax; remember Weyrich is one of the key architects of the current Religious Right.

"Ken Blackwell: An Extraordinary Individual

Paul Weyrich
Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005

In my political lifetime, which is approaching half a century, I have become acquainted with only a handful of truly extraordinary individuals. The late Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen was one such political figure, Senator Jesse Helms another.

....

In the state of Ohio there is one such remarkable person, who I have known for a couple of decades. He is getting ready to run for governor of Ohio. His name is Ken Blackwell. He is serving as secretary of state of Ohio, after having served two successful terms as state treasurer."

3. Agreed.
But it won't happen.

I guess the Bushies owe him.

I feel so sorry for those in Ohio.

They will probably attempt to use the same "tricks" they used in this past presidential election - not enough voting machines, refusal to have observers, refusal to disclose the machine software, excuses to dump certain voter registrations, etc.

5. That's the Columbus Mayor?
Wonder if ex-Cleveland mayor Mike White -- also African American -- might run?

Does this mean Springer wants DeWine's seat in the Senate?

7. Coleman is very sharp
I'm from Columbus and he's very popular here. Recently, Cbus has grown quite a bit and there has been a lot of development downtown because of Coleman. Most republicans I know in CBus think he's a good mayor and a good guy. I think he'd make a great Governor, and it would really help u it have a good democrat as Governor of Ohio for future elections.
I'm 100% behind Coleman.
And I hate Blackwell, fuckin crypto-fascist.

6. How obvious can this be, mediawhores? Katherine Harris? Ken Blackwell?
That would be congresswoman Harris and wanna-be Governor Blackwell. Whata better way to keep someone's secrets secret than to give them something to lose if they think about yapping?

8. Interesting thoughts, John_H.
Apparently Mr. Blackwell used to be Deputy Grand-Poobah in Housing and Urban Development. His ties to the Bushies and their Fundie foot soldiers "go way back."

They are so open about their rewards it is pretty disgusting.

10. Ken Blackwell, the man who saved democracy....
I'd say there's plenty of dirt out there to be dug up on him and to bury him with. Ohioans, go for it.
