Bush: Holding 3 jobs is "uniquely American"

Ok...crappy website link but I saw it and couldn't find another link with his fucked up comment.

http://drudgereport.com/flashss.htm

The President comforted Mornin on the security of social security stating that 'the promises made will be kept by the government.'
But without prompting Mornin began to elaborate on her life circumstances

MS. MORNIN: That's good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.

THE PRESIDENT: You work three jobs?

MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.

THE PRESIDENT: Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that. (Applause.) Get any sleep? (Laughter.)

1. This from a shithead who calls his 4 hour workday "hard, very hard."
If anyone ever needed to be stripped of wealth and sent to be reeducated by the peasants, it's that whole damn family. They just aint right.

2. The sad thing is that is it American
And no American should be forced to work three jobs to make ends meet. It's one thing if someone chooses to do that because they want to make more money for luxuries, but I suspect that is not this woman's situation.

Not only that, making ends meet forces the
average American to compromise their family life. We race around trying to do it all while employers ratchet up demands to the point where the threat of losing an income becomes weighed against what is best for our physical and mental health and the health of our relationships. We have always and will always be a culture which exploits the poor and the week. We've sold our souls for capitalism--with a capital C.

24. you nailed it ...
I suspect that financial stress and the time crunch resulting from employer demands are more of a threat to "traditional families" than television, rock music, and same-sex marriages combined!

3. That son of a bitch hasn't worked three jobs in his LIFE
How disgusting. A guy works three jobs to "put food on his family" and the idiot boyking thinks it is FANTASTIC? What is he smoking? Nitwit!

4. Words fail me
It's like that skit on "Living Colour" about the Pakistani family, each of whom has 10 jobs (or was it "SNL")? "Uniquely American" was when ONE JOB could support your family and still leave you time to enjoy them.

6. "You've only got 3 jobs? You're a lazy man!"
I think it was Living Colour, and I believe it was a Jamaican family, not a Pakistani one.

13. It was a Carribean family.
Lol! That was a funny skit. And it's true to a point. I used to date someone from the Carribean. They are hard working people. At one point he was putting in 40 hours a week of OVERTIME at our firm! (It was a very important project.)

5. John Edwards could really make something out of this
John Edwards was able to explain and exploit the moral weakness of an administration that values wealth over work in a way that John Kerry never could.

I think most Americans would agree that there's something fundamentally wrong if someone needs to work three jobs just to make ends meet. What this person did is admirable, but what the administration is doing to this person is shameful.

10. The Silverspoon Sociopath...
has never had a job that his Poppy didn't set up for him and every business that he ever got handed to him was a failure but still it was managed that he made a profit from the failures. Now he has failed upwards to a job that he is not qualified for and is failing in. He is no doubt the dumbest and most ignorant Pres. in recent history.

Uniquely American...what kind of babysitting arrangements are the kids subjected to?
what kind of substandard housing is this woman's family having to live in?
Do they have healthcare, or do they have to go to the ER so that the she doesn't
have to miss out work and lose one of her minimum wage jobs?
When is the last time this woman and her family ever had a vacation?
Besides going to the local park for a picnic once a year?
How much money has she been able to save?
I bet ZERO, 'cause there's always new tires, new shoes and heating to buy,
and she has to pay for them out of 3 crappy jobs. :grr:

18. And he's going to be cutting any assistance she might be getting
with food stamps and healthcare. And as I remember, this woman also has 3 kids at home - and one is a special-needs child. As I said in another thread about this, this mother needs help, and Sh*thead gives her JOKES.
Yeah -"Fantastic!"

"Regular" That means she had to pass the screening exam to get in.
Since Shrubbie doesn't allow for the possibility of dissent, it's likely
that this woman voted for him.

It means the average American has no time to look deeper than the surface when it comes to politics. So busy and so tired they can't get involved. It's part of their plan.
