4. DQ ... he wouldn't have been wiley enough to pick DC for VP
* is a dangerous combination of just enough brain cells and just enough power hunger/vindictiveness. Quayle's just a useless doofus, nothing to be afraid of.

Obviously on he sails,
with marks not quite as good as Quayle’s

Please buy his book (it doesn't have to be through Amazon if you prefer otherwise).

9. Stupid is as stupid does...
Quayle may be a moron, but he (thankfully) never had the opportunity to fuck up as badly as Bush.

25. Give Quayle credit...
he managed to pass the bar exam, something which not all of the "daddy's money" in the world can buy you. Bush has never done anything all on his own.

11. Oh yes.
Bush really is stupid. He was stupid enough to get elected to the presidency twice, albeit fraudulently, and he is stupid enough to know how to wreck fifty years of social progress in this country.

When are we ever going to realize that going around calling him "stupid" is not going to get us anywhere? He is not stupid, he is evil, and that's much worse.

He knows exactly what he is doing and how to do it. Before he's through, unless we find a way to stop him, he will have sent this country back to the dark ages.

Our adversary is very cunning and we have to start being that way too before it's too late.

Who was really the stupid one, Bush or Kerry? Bush is sitting in the Oval Office plotting his next moves against the middle class whereas Kerry languishes as a member of the minority in the Senate.

If Kerry had run a more intelligent campaign he would be president right now. Stolen election or not, they couldn't have overturned a landslide and that's what it should have been given Bush's dismal record.

My point is that if we going around calling Bush "stupid" we do it at our own peril.

18. You are right.
However, others in the thread called him stupid and that seems to be a very common refrain at DU.

12. Is it just coincidental that neocons were pulling the strings...
of both of these morons?

Think about it. It's all about William Kristol and Donald Rumsfeld.

Do neocons value the power of simpletonism?

24. I used to think Bush is dumb.
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 05:54 AM by suigeneris
He's not brainy, obviously, but now, I don't think it's that so much as he is incapable of considering all sides of a matter. It's something about his personality, maybe his character. He won't do the work of learning the issues in detail and making decisions that are carefully considered. He has a kind of general road map, pretty much supplied by his tutors and advisors I think, and then he just consults his gut. I find it scary as hell.

For example, Rice tutored him on foreign affairs before he ran and like a security blanket for a little kid he won't let her get too far away no matter how poorly her analysis, predictions or advice has turned out. I find it scary as hell.

Damn typos!
