One thing really puzzles me about this Social Security BS
And this is:

If Bush is such a strong leader, and if he is so right on Social Security, why isn't it already the law? Why all the promotion?

If Bush were even half the leader that Republicans like to fantasize he is, then we wouldn't need all this propaganda that I am seeing all over TV.

It's not as though he has to reach out to anyone in the opposing party. He has 55 seats in the Senate, and a solid lock on the House.

So, I guess my point is:

If Bush's plan is so good, why does he have to keep selling it when his party controls every aspect of politics?

Shouldn't this be a warning sign, if even Republicans are wary of it?

if it is so damn great, why stress how it will not effect near term beneficiaries? Why not let them get in on the supposed cash bonanza that will surely follow our great leader's plan?

2. The propaganda is to influence
the public to contact their reps and senators to reassure them that they won't lose the next election if they back dimwit's SS plan.

3. Yeah, but it just seems like someone as "popular" as Bush
could be able to push this through just on sheer will.
