We've all had it up to here being called "unpatriotic" for daring to have opinions contrary to the latest Heritage Foundation talking point. Let's call them out on it:
It's their version of "political correctness."
It occurred to me after DU sNiffa posted this "Mallard Fillmore" cartoon in the DU Lounge:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=2594545It reminded me of the days, not so very long ago, when the RW INSISTED that everyone should be judged on merit, with no regard to race, gender, social situation, etc. Back then, they called it "favoritism." Well, if their reaction to our argument with the incompetency and indeed DANGER of Condoleeza Rice and Alberto Gonzales, not to mention countless other examples, isn't "favoritism," what the hell then is?
It also consisted of encouraging criticism and often blind hatred for the, gasp, PRESIDENT. Did the protocol change in 2000? Did they hold back when we were engaged in Bosnia? Hell, no!
It's time to fight back at them, using their tired, sorry argument from the past.
We fought the PC argument and won--because we were on the right side of the argument. We still are, even if the roles are seemingly reversed.
