Poll question: Does it matter that electronic voting means we can't vote anymore?
Edited on Tue Feb-08-05 08:36 PM by JohnOneillsMemory
Obviously(?), my point is that elections are stolen routinely now with corrupt software and hacking.

Diebold is ready to add a bogus printer bandaid that only matters in a recount and we all saw how the recount of 2004 was prevented.

2. Personally, I think that
we can chew gum AND walk, all at the same time. It's our congresspeople that need to be putting some goddamn bills out for passage, and it's our job to make the noise to make sure that the MSM start talking about these bills....

I can actually write two letters a day, I can. One letter in support of a bill reforming election procedure and voting machines issues....and a letter promoting whatever candidate for 2008, I do most prefer.

Multi-tasking = good

only being able to deal with one thing at a time = limiting

I think the board is big enough for many of the issues that Americans and Democrats have on their plates.

Feeling that we are unable to discuss one thing for the sake of another sounds pretty dishabilitating to me.

3. We've got a long way to go in voting rights activism
Only a small handful of states have taken any action against electronic election fraud...and the only way to get anymore states to do it is grass-roots activism, which will have to raise a whole of consciousness about the issue. We also need more academic studies of voting machinery done--funded with a madate accept nothing less than a transparent and unccoruptable system. From a technological point of view, that certainly CAN be done. Computer scientists researching the matter need to be aware that the job we are hiring them to do, involves prooving to us all that it IS done.
