Former Governor of Minnesota may run for a united states senate seat. Has anyone Else heard this? p.s. which state would he run in. He still lives in MN.

1. Excuse me, but you live there, heard the story, so you
should be giving us a bigger picture of this. Maybe.

4. there are four surviving former MN governors...which senate seat were they
talking about, Dayton's ('06) or Coleman's('08)?

Jesse Ventura, age 54, Governor 1999-2003
Arne Carlson, age 71, Governor 1991 - 1999
Wendell Anderson , age 72, Governor 1971 - 1976, U.S. Senator 1976 - 1978
Al Quie, age 81, Governor 1979-83

A Coleman vs Ventura race would be quite a spectacle. The Body has lately criticized the use of Natl Guard units in Iraq and is working with the Operation Truth group (you may have recognized his voice on their radio commercials).

I don't know though...do any other Minnesotans credit Ventura with screwing up the state's economy by refunding surplus money? That could for sure come back to haunt him in a political campaign.

6. But Coleman isn't up until 2008
Dayton's seat comes up in 2006 and it's going to be a tough fight. Ventura getting into the mix could only make it worse.

7. yes, not til '08...but we've heard Franken muttering about 'maybe'
considering running in '08. And you're absolutely right about Ventura - having him in ANY mix makes things worse.

Why would he run? He always griped about not getting enough money, being victimized by the media 'jackals' and being glad to be done with it all when he left office.
