VERY Early Campaign 2006 Top 10 Priority List
OK, now lets suppose you are Howard Dean and you have 10 races to support the most in 2006. Can be Senate, House, or Governor races. Obviously, you have limited funds and some of your candidates are stronger than others. I have a top 10 list of which campaigns to target which is pretty broad but why not be hypothetical here? Also, pick something realistic, I would love to beat many of those freeper punks but defeating Orrin Hatch & taking over the house seats in Alabama just ain't happening!

1. Defeat Rick Santorum. Find someone who is up to the job
2. Defeat Arnold. This might not be possible but supposing a really strong candidate runs (maybe another Hollywood superstar?). It would be nice to eliminate their posterboys ASAP.
3. Defend Mark Dayton. He is going to be #1 on the GOP hit list and we can't have MN have 2 GOP Senators
4. Get Harold Ford Jr. elected in TN. It would make a HUGE statement to the black community to have 2 African-American Senators elected in 2 years.
5. Get a democrat elected governor of Florida. Enough of Jebbie. Maybe Betty Castor is interested?
6. Get a Democrat elected Governor of Colorado. Another state where future pickups are possible, complete the Democratic takeover of CO.
7. Defend the freshwoman Senators of MI & WA; they had narrow victories and are high up on the GOP hit list.
8. Defeat 2 of 4 of these GOP Senators: Talent MO, Burns MT, DeVine OH, and Ensign NV. Could be possible with the right candidates such as the mayor of Las Vegas, maybe Kucinich or a Congressman, not sure about the 1st 2 though.
9. Defeat Pataki and hope that he runs for Senate and gets crushed by Hillary. Spitzer has already made him out of the Governor's race.
10. Defend Janet Napolitano in AZ. AZ is going to be a critical state b/c of its growth and we need to help her out.

Many more possibilities feel free to comment, add your own list, or mention other pressing needs.

2. I think your best bet on the list is in NV
I think Ensign can be beat. But, the Ohio Democratic Party has been so feeble in attracting people to run against weak pukies I'm guessing DeVine is safe. I don't know enough about Talent and Burns is probably safe.
Santorum should...I repeat SHOULD be easy to beat. But...so SHOULD arnie and georgie have been easy.
I think we'll take the New York Governor's race. We have a really strong candidate in Spitzer.

3. Wisconsin. Stop former H&HS Secretary Tommy from taking Kohl's seat
I've also got a mayor problem, but that's more internal. If Kohl isn't up to it, then we need to find a Dem who is.

I don't need a Repub Mayor of Milwaukee who has "ballot issues" and a Repub Senator who used to be "King Tommy" here in Wisconsin (also Tax and Spend Tommy the DINO to some Repubs). That would only leave me Russ, and I might lose him too if he runs for Prez.
