Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 08:59 AM by flpoljunkie
The rich asshole: "One of these days we're going to revolt, and you are going to find yourselves hanging at the end of a rope."

He was complaining that he did not get back hundreds of thousands of dollars with Bush's tax cuts--only $43,000, I believe he said. I guess he is just not rich enough to receive those hundreds of thousands in tax cuts that the uber rich received!

This to a very polite young woman, a tax reporter, from the Congressional Quarterly, trying to explain Bush's budget and tax cuts.

They ignored this threat--perhaps they were just too shocked to respond.

3. Did he prove he really was a millionaire?

And how many times has he read "Atlas Shrugged"?

Edited to add: He needs to study the history of Revolutions. If he's really rich, he ought to be worried.

... exactly what I was thinking. Some of these rich folks are completely delusional about who will be hanging from a rope when the country goes hungry.

You can buy armed guards but you cannot buy friends.

4. I heard him.
And I just heard that freeper nutbag who said the only way to control gov't spending is to cut taxes...Funny cutting taxes didn't stop Bush. Look how in debt we are. She also said that we didn't need to take care of other families, only our own. Something along the lines of they aren't responsible so screw them. I'm wondering does that caller work three jobs? What does she know about being poor?

5. Since I didn't make $43,000 last year, he can STFU.
That kind of arrogance really is shocking, even though it shouldn't be any more.

the poor were a drag on the nations economy. Isn't that partly why we went into a depression?

10. Nobody complains about taxes more than rich people
A few years ago, a woman wrote a letter to the Oregonian which began with, "I'm not rich, but I paid over $100,000 in income tax last year."

I tried to figure out what her income would have to be, but my tax tables don't go that high.

Another time, a man wrote in and said that he paid $47,000 in income tax, which was half of what he earned from his job. Well, of course, to pay $47,000 in taxes with earned income of $94,000, he had to have had some pretty profitable investments.

I'm sick of those rich crybabies.

13. Why would they revolt? They run the country. If anything the revolt will
come from below and this man will be hanging on that rope.

how many millionaires vs how many barely able to make ends meet?

Good luck with that revolution, buddy. Read a couple history books about how it played out in France.
