I think BushInc is pushing the impression that Colin Powell was too wimpy.
The last couple of days, I have heard little remarks here and there from CNN and FOX talking heads that, compared to Rice's hardline approach that is completely in line with Bush, Colin Powell was just too wimpy and wouldn't get tough with other nations.

The press wouldn't offer that characterization of Powell unless BushInc is pushing that storyline themselves.

Anyone elese notice the raising of the pedestal for Rice while Powell is spoken of in more derisive tones than ever heard from the news networks?

1. I hope they do it enough to piss Powell off.
Then he might feel compelled to get it out of his system and put it down in a very interesting book. Would love to know his real story for the past 4 years.

3. The only reason is because
Rice is a "yes" person and Powell wasn't. I think that's why he resigned because he couldn't take it anymore. If he ever had a tell all book I'd surely buy it! I wonder what he thinks of everything going on. I bet he's glad he left. Although I do miss him. :(

5. I don't think so. Powell will NEVER tell all he knows about their crooked
ways. I think he's too much of a part of it himself, and they have enough slam on him to keep him at their heels for as long as they wish.

Any "tell all" would likely whitewash alot of the real dirt.

6. Well, he was too wimpy, actually.
If he had trusted his own best judgment and acted according to his principles, we wouldn't be in this situation. There was a defining moment when he was literally one of the most powerful men in the world, one of the only men with the authority to reject the current course toward war and turn the tide of public opinion. Instead, he played along.

He might argue later that he was the one who had doubts, but when apprehension does not lead to substantive action, it is meaningless. The Einsatzgruppen commanders felt bad about their reprisal attacks, but what good was that sentiment for the Romanian villagers who were murdered?
