Still nothing re: GannonGate from any mainstream newspapers
mostly rawstory, mediamatters and one conservative website.

Think it'll be picked up by the corporate news?
Other than Olberman that is.

1. I just emailed this to the Mpls Star Tribune
This story has all the makings of a made-for-tv movie. From a person getting credentials into the White House under a false name to ask softball questions in news conferences, to being involved with the leaking Valerie Plame's name, and now to being a male prostitute running escort service websites. What else do you need in a huge story? The Boston Globe had a story about him last week.

I highly suggest you guys take a look into this if you haven't already.

The biggest repository for news on this is DailyKos:
http://www.dailykos.com/

Gannon talking about his involvement in the Plame case: This has been verified as him posting.

Talon News has pulled off all of their staff bios and are now removing old stories by Gannon from their website. They can be accessed in archives here: http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.talonnews.com

Washington DC House member Louise Slaughter's press release asking for answers:
http://www.louise.house.gov/HoR/Louise/News/Press+Releases+By+Date/2005+Press+Releases/WH+Briefing+Room+Scandal.htm

Gannon plagiarizes official White House press releases: http://mediamatters.org/items/200501280001

In addition he appears to have direct ties to Karl Rove (big surprise!)

3. If it's not on Fox, it didn't really happen.

That's the advantage of owning the media. You own the right to modify reality to your own liking.

4. Send it to your local newsroom or call them and ask for national desk
and tell them what's going on. After Armstrong Williams and Maggie Gallagher, they'll definitely listen.

5. You can't get magicians to talk about the guy who revealed the trick.
This will be treated with silence just like stolen elections and NORAD exercises on the morning of 9/11.

The MSM are salesmen and saleswomen for a bogus product, the White House. Have been for fifty years.

The Show Must Go On...without the one guy who missed the rings and went splat into the sawdust.

8. If you want to get this story out, you have to take it to this site:

http://poynter.org/column.asp?id=45

This is the NUMBER ONE blog for Journalists in the U.S. and has been for a number of years. You cannot imagine how powerful and influential this column is. Once Romenesko makes something public journalists sit up and take notice. He is the one media observer who determines what is - and isn't - a scandal in journalism.
