Lets talk Oprah Winfrey as VP
It just struck me that she is like the perfect person for this. She is more famous than Arnold, much more liked than almost anyone on the planet, gives millions to orphaned children in Africa, is smart as a hell! Shit if she had some political experience she would be a great presidential candidate. The press would eat it up however she probably would over shadow the main candidate.

4. I'm not sure...
I get the feeling she's disconnected now from us. Too many years in the spotlight I guess.

But what the hell, give it a shot. I am wrong occasionally. lol

17. I agree about disconnect but think she would get votes.
I think Oprah would have a huge shot at either the presidency or veep - though I do wonder about her disconnection and consumer nature.

I think she probably has some things she'd rather not expose to the light, from her past, that might prevent her from running.

I think she'd have a real shot at being president if first she held another office - like Governor or Senator.

11. Exactly MY point.
Arnold and Reagan both suck! I want somebody who is actually qualified to hold the office! Why in the world would we want somebody who potentially could be the freakin' President if their only credentials are being famous, female and black? Aside from the blatant pandering of the race/gender issues, choosing a celebrity because she is a celebrity is an affront to the entire system. Yeah, the Republicans did it -- they chose unqualified celebities because they were famous, period. That's no reason why we should. In fact, those two morAns prove precisely why we shouldn't.

12. I completely disagree, I think she is brilliant and a great business
person. It wouldn't matter if she was white, black, male or female. She has all the skill and brains to be great. She should probably get some political experience first however.

8. Forget it
She was asked point-blank on one of her "after the show" shows about a presidential run and she said she's not interested. Having too much fun just being Oprah.

10. Why? It's ridiculous.
Oprah is not qualified to be dog catcher let alone VP.

Perhaps there'll be a Santorum/Winfrey ticket in the near future.

18. Exactly, Oprah hasn't done enough
when you think of the influence she holds in her hands. She lost me when she did her voting show last fall before the election when she didn't have the guts to speak out against * or for Kerry. Since we all know how dangerous * is, I just didn't like her tiptoeing around. Then when it came out that her boyfriend Stedman Graham was a business partner of Armstrong Williams, I started wondering what side she's really on. Not to mention the Graham-Williams connection has been completely swept under the carpet! I guess I thought she shared the same convictions as I do, and am more than a little sad to think that she may not or that she may just not care enough.
