to stick it to all the actors that spoke up against *. Can we put up billboards in the red states showing dead Iraqi's and Soldiers coffins on them and thanking them for their votes? I can't cut and paste the billboard, but it shows it in the article. Here's the story:

Billboard Blitz to Blast Hollywood
HUMAN EVENTS has learned that a billboard blitz "thanking" Hollywood for the reelection of President Bush will be unveiled early next week. The advertisements feature the faces of liberal Hollywood icons Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Affleck, Martin Sheen, Chevy Chase, Barbara Streisand, and Sean Penn, and offer thanks to Hollywood their help getting President Bush reelected.

Two versions of the billboard were created, both "thanking" Hollywood -- the first for "4 more years" and the second for "W. Still President."

Billboard creator Citizens United, a group that advocates a return to traditional American values, has purchased the use of three billboards near the Kodak Theatre (home of the Academy Awards) for the month of February, which includes Oscar Night, Sunday, February 27. Asked about the campaign, Citizens United President David Bossie said, "We're taking on Hollywood. We've done it in the past." Of the organization's many actions, one of its most famous challenges to Hollywood was Celsius 41.11, a documentary exposing "the truth behind the lies of Fahrenheit 9/11," the Michael Moore anti-Bush mock-umentary.

In the past film (and TV) has played a strong role in informing the citizenry. It is a very effective medium for social and moral commentary. Think of the Viet Nam era and the films released that helped widen awareness, look at Archie Bunker, the bumbling bigot but still a human character.

For years American film has slid into glamourous irrelevance, maybe a wake up call is in order.

What a bunch of whiners. I guess they forget celebrities are people too and those who are Americans and live here and are legal citizens they have the right to the Constiution which includes freedom of speech. I bet those celebrities who are for Bush they would have no problem with. :eyes: I think someone should raise money to put up those billboards in red states. Show them two can play at that game.

The billboards are 2 blocks away from where the Grammy awards will be but the fat ass republican being interviewed on the news said they are currently trying to purchase more billboard space.

6. Billboards are relatively inexpensive

How about Dems buy some that say "Thanks GOP for bankrupting our government" or "Thanks George W Bush for making us the most hated country in the world" or "Thanks Dubya for spending the Social Security surplus" or maybe "GOT WMD?" all with photos of the pResident.

Fight fire with fire. Maybe Moveon can do it.

they should get if they did do it. I mean we could really really stick it to them back, or we could be polite about it. I think your suggestions were relatively polite. Putting them up in Welfare red states and calling them out 'Hay you uneducated morons in the welfare states thanks'. And show pics of mangled Iraqi's and US Soldiers, prison abuse photos, etc. I don't know. Maybe that would make us just as terrible but I don't think I care anymore if we sink to their level
