POLL: Are you tired of the Presidential Primary Polls on this board?
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 11:04 PM by wheresthemind
A simple yes or no will do... No star for this 18 year old. : )

I swear I will tear my hair out if I see many more... We've covered all of them now from 2008 to 1992... Whats next Andrew Jackson supporters flaming Clark supporters?

Can we at least concentrate on 2006 first? Hell I am working on my Mayoral campaign for 2005. Maybe we'd win more elections if every hour that was spent discussing 2004 was spent working for 2005 and 2006.

Anyone who answers no is invited to join a forum called Campaign 2006 & 2008.

9. Yep
I gotta think about 2006 here. We might lose both our Dem Gov and one of our Senators.

11. You'd think it was a little early.
But people find the Presidential race so much more interesting than the other races, so it attracts more attention, even this early.

I say we focus on brainstorming ways to beat out Lieberman for "his" nomination.

13. Yes! Yes! Yes!
You're right - '08 polls should be in Campaign '06 and '08 thread. If the post relates to general strategic and policy discussions about "how to win" elections, then fine, GDP is a good place to discuss that. But arguing about which specific candidate is best belongs in the other forum, particularly since the supporters of the various front-runners have the same arguments again and again and again (and again and again and again).

15. The cultists are out of hand
it makes the board look like a bunch of morons.

There is a very good reason my DemocraticUnderground sticker has never made it onto my car.

I'm not excited about any of the "likelies" yet, and I am FAR more concerned about 2006.

18. Flaming Clark supporters is some people's idea
of a good time. That will happen with or without polls.

I vote YES, I am tired of them. All of them.

19. absolutely !! the focus should be on issues, not candidates
and i think the problem goes beyond mere candidate polls ... we're way too focused on personalities and not focused enough on working out our positions on the issues ...

is this DU or People Magazine ????????????

try posting something like "Kerry blew it ... he should just shutup already" and you'll see tons of replies ...

try posting something about "how to build the party's platform" and you'll see very few replies ...

i believe this trend has gotten worse since the primaries began last year ... DU used to be more focussed on issues ... now, it seems, it's like we're in permanent election mode and too few seem enthusiastic about getting down to defining what we're all about ...

21. Absolutely worn out with them
What's the point of having a poll this early in the game? I have a limited amount of time to be on the board and I am tired of wading through these polls trying to find the things of substance.

24. Yes I am tired of the polls. They are empty calories.
I have more patience for discussion threads about the strengths that this or that potential candidate may offer the Democrats because at least that involves some strategic discussion. I don't mind those threads. I simply ignore them if I don't want to read them.

26. Yes - Stop it NOW!
Way too much can happen between now and 2006 - this doesn't become an issue until after those elections.
