1. Because it would be like Christmas for them
America likes Bill, but not Hillary. Her candidacy would be their dream come true.

2. They Think She'll be Easy to Beat
And they may be right. Don't know yet.

They think their political base is in the South, and that Southerners will hate Hillary.

They've been demonizing her for years. Maybe they've begun to believe their own propaganda?

3. I don't think America is ready for a woman president.
I know it's horrible and I would vote for the best candidate regardless of sex, but that is not how a lot of people think. Didn't about half of the country agree that a-rabs should be given less rights because of the current "war on terror?" Sorry, but that is what kind of people we're dealing with and that is why they want Hillary.

4. America isn't ready

for a female president. Don't get me wrong. I like Hillary. I would vote for her too, but the rest of the country... I hate to say it, but even a lot of Dems will not vote for a woman to become pres. I wish it was possible.

5. Let them dream... their real lives are probably nightmares
... that is why they 'hate'.

6. Sun Tzu
It is the rule in war, if our forces are ten to the enemy's one, to surround him; if five to one, to attack him; if twice as numerous, to divide our army into two.

7. Bill did the ad with Poppy. This is the pay-back for helping out Repugs.
Clearly everyone knows that why Clinton agreed to do the commercial with Poppy (of all people!).

8. I wondered why CNN was pushing Hillary...
..as the Dem 08 candidate.

They recently featured a poll, which showed Hillary as the top 08 contender, with 40 percent of Dems saying they want her to run.

CNN has practically started her campaign for her. The story they did showed "Give em Hillary 08" bumper stickers and all kinds of rhetoric about her running.

Truly, it was like watching the recent presidential campaigns all over again. CNN presented her in such a favorable light.

It reminded me of how CNN touted Kerry (especially over Dean). We all know the Reps were salivating to run against Kerry. The Swift Boat sickos were waiting in the wings, as were the Reps with Kerry's voting record.

So, it looks like the Reps want to run against Hillary in 08--because CNN is sure propping up her candidacy.

Disgraceful.

10. I remember Rush and other salvating
at the thought of running against Dean, actually. Our local guy said he knew Dean would self destruct at some point because he was crazy, but sounded disappointed that it had happened so soon.

When the primaries came around here, they were more worried about Edwards. Don't vote for him! He has a chance of winning! He had the Kennedy think working, the local guy figured.

They laughed at Dean, they seemed a bit worried by Edwards but were already starting the "trial lawyers are bad" meme, and they did a pretty good job of making fun of Kerry too.

I remember Rush saying, after Dean dropped out, that at least he wasn't afraid to be a pure and true Liberal. Geez, even Howard himself would disagree with that one. He said once that if he was an example of a liberal, that it only went to show how far right the party had drifted.

I think there was some equal opportunity salvating going on. And they seemed to imply that one by one, the Clinton camp was sabotaging each front runner. First they figured the Clinton camp somehow brought out the scream. And it went from there.

9. 2 reasons.....
1. Hillary is probably the most hated Democrat among the freeper wing of the Republican party. They absolutely are obsessed with her. I don't know why. Perhaps its the fact that she didn't fit the cookie cutter, Stepford mold of a first lady. Or maybe it was her attempt at universal health care in 94. Or maybe its because shes a woman with power. Whatever it is, they absolutely hate her and nothing is sweeter than going to war with somebody you hate. They're pushing for her so they can satisfy their desire of confronting her on a national stage and using everything in their bag of dirty tricks to destroy her. It is simply a sick obsession. They want to stomp on her and put her away for good. She's an enemy to them, like a terrorist.

2. They want to say "we were right." For years, the Rethuglicans have been pushing the idea that Hillary is desperate for power and that she is slowly executing her path to the top, where she will reign down on us a storm of terror. Rush Limbaugh subscribes to this view alot. I cant recall how many times during the 2004 campaign season that he mentioned how Hillary was Kerry's biggest enemy because she was going to destroy him in order to run in '08. I believe some wingnuts have even written books on this subject. About how Hillary's quest for power will have her on the top of the ticket by '08. O'Reilly also alludes to this on his show. They want her to run so their crazy conspiracy theories don't get proven wrong.

11. I agree with reason #1.
I agree with reason #1.

But I am a little worried at the suggestion that the Clintons have somehow done a deal with the neocons. Surely Hillary will not run if she realizes that she is not the one to save the party? I mean Democrats need a populist who can push through the bullshit and Hillary is not that. Personally I would love Hillary as President. But like many - I do not think it realistic.

Ready for a woman? Sure America would elect a woman in an instant if she were amazing. I think Hillary is amazing in many ways but has lived as too much of an insider her whole life. We need a female prosecutor archetype - not someone who has been image conscious (by being non-conformist at first and then by being conformist next) for the last 30 years.

12. She's their dream candidate.
Not only would conservatives go to the polls in record numbers, you would also see Democrats voting 3rd party in record numbers.
