"I have no problem with the Dean Scream being played over and over, as long as it is done with journalistic integrity and that means playing it WITHOUT the false microphone filter.

When the scream first came out, no one realized Dean was using a heavily filtered microphone that removed all the background noise. But Diane Sawyer put that to rest with her story showing EXACTLY how the scream sounded with the crowd noise included. And in that context, it was a whole lot less sensational.

To continue to play the scream, without putting it in its original context of background noise is FUNDAMENTALLY DISHONEST and MISLEADING. It does not meet any true journalistic standard, but is instead designed specifically to mislead the American public as to what happened that night. You are certainly entitled to play it, but you are not entitled to deliberately mislead people as to what happened.

Either play the scream with the background noise included or stop playing it. You cannot call yourselves journalists if you put stories on the air designed to mislead people on the facts."
