Bwa Ha - Just got a call inviting me to have dinner with Bush!
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 01:31 PM by RobertSeattle
The woman said something to the effect of "Rep. Tom Reynolds inviting you to a dinner with President Bush". After saying no politely (!) - I did a *69 and it returned: 800-245-2577.

Dumping that into Google returns:
"The Business Advisory Council" (Front Group for RNC)
http://www.businessadvisorycouncil.org/bac_contents/membership/planner.shtml

Should I have accepted the invite?

Also google found someone with a similar experience:

6. Very good point...
It would probably have been several thousand dollars a plate, you would have been stuck in the back at a table with a bunch of captians of industry complaining about taxes and then would have had to stand in line for 30 minutes to shake W's hand and get a picture taken with him. However, since you brought it up, you probably should have at least asked. Call 'em back and find out.

5. WOW! A Doctor freind of mine just told me the same thing last night!

How do you think you got on their list? I am always highly suspicious of the RNC. They are hitting the phones pretty hard to raise money it seems. I am curious if this Admin. is illegally using IRS data to identify high income individuals to solicit. IRS data would be the "Holy Grail" of direct marketing.

9. They did that to my Mom
They called here around the election and thanked her for contributing to the party. Only my parents never have. My Mom told them they've never contributed and they asked if she'd like to and she nicely said no. I guess they got her number because she is a registered republican (but didn't vote for W thank goodness).

7. It probably came with a steep price tag
I'd have to dig up the invitation, but dinner with Mrs. Bush was something like $15k per couple.

I'm not sure if * is worth more, or less. Less, I'd have to say.

8. Shoulda said yes
Then put the cost on a credit card. Then don't pay the credit card, using of course, a legitimate reason for not paying. Such as the quality of the product was shoddy and didn't live up to expectations.

LOL

11. I've gotten those too - they come with a very steep price tag
If it were for free, I would accept it immediately.

Nothing would please me more than to have an opportunity to express myself to Bush in person.
