AAR - Ed Schultz on now, called Gannon's school
Is anyone listening to this? He's on the phone right now with the place that Gannon got his credentials. Missed the beginning.

4. oh, huh.
But he's always talking about AAR, and he's on the station here that carries AAR... but I never saw him on AAR's website so I didn't really know how he fit in.

hmmm...

19. He's syndicated by Jones Radio.
He's on a lot of AAR outlets, like mine, but not at all affiliated with AAR.

He does prop them up, though.

He's produced by Jones Radio Network but a lot of AAR affiliates air him. I listen on both XM and the Minneapolis AAR station

27. But he isn't on AAR. His programming nor his paycheck come from
AAR.
Station owners can purchase AAR programming ala Carte. They also purchase other programming ala Carte.

I know I'm being a whiney bitch.

45. He's on the AAR channel in Los Angeles 12-3, I think.
I have to turn it off when he's on, and listen to AAR on-line instead to hear Randi. (The programming schedules are different.)

2. She said the classes range from
3 hours to a full week. Admitted being a conservative news training company.

http://www.leadershipinstitute.org

He's digging for info. She's saying they've trained people that work at NBC and FOX.

Any way we can get a list of who's attended? This could be another thing that could bring out some more skeletons.

I missed the beginning of the call. She was very forthcoming, very proud of the organization, almost clueless to what's been going on (boy they sure train 'em to be aware of stuff huh?)

ed made a point of telling the listeners that in north dakota where he is it is legal to tape or eaves drop on a phone conversation as long as 1 party is aware that is happening.

Ed's show just gained back what he lost from me because he talks about sports too much. But knowing he can make phone calls like that, gives him lots of potential for... interesting radio.

He got their web address before the end of the call.

This from their web site;

"The Leadership Institute is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan educational foundation.

It does not support, endorse or oppose candidates or proposed legislation. The Leadership Institute does not discriminate with respect to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, or partisan affiliation. The Leadership Institute has an open admission policy, all programs are open to the public."

Note: Political activity could endanger their 501 (c)(3) status

They're so proud of their loose connections to Novak and Faux News.

"The Leadership Institute's mission is to identify, recruit, train, and place conservatives in politics, government, and media."

And they have a video that claims to tell us what the liberals really think.

They're all at the local ABC affiliate, KATV.

I had a big falling out with them 4 yrs ago when they endorsed *. Haven't watched them since. Back then they were the market leader, after the endorsement they slipped and are now neck & neck with CBS affiliate.

Nice to know that KATV will be getting 'experienced' newspeople.

Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 05:26 PM by cosmicdot
I'm assuming that records prior to 1986 are not available ... the 1st Foundation grants show up from The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Inc. http://www.mediatransparency.org/funders/bradley_foundation.htm
"the country's largest and most influential right-wing foundation"

using http://www.mediatransparency.org 's Fundometer
link http://www.mediatransparency.org/fundometer.php

found about 1/2 way down the right margin of the homepage ...

2 group names come up when searching
http://www.leadershipinstitute.org/

The Leadership Institute, of course; plus, something simply "US" whose funding is linked to the Scaife Foundation ... no information provided for "US"

The Leadership Institute

http://www.mediatransparency.org/search_results/info_on_any_recipient.php?recipientID=600

Leadership Institute
Springfield, VA 22151

The Leadership Institute's purpose is to foster conservatism on college campuses across the nation and to train young conservative journalists for future journalistic professions.

More info culled by Media Transparency

~snip~
The Times also reported that the Institute is financed by "about $8 million a year in contributions from wealthy conservatives, most of whom are Republicans. Major donors include Joseph Coors, the beer magnate."

44. I heard it
streaming this afternoon (no Ed on the airwaves here). I was laughing so hard it was SO good. This has to be one of his best shows and I have been listening since Feb or March of last year (national show, former local show before that).

I wonder what the expressions of Team Fargo were at the studio while this was going on. Had to be pretty good.

this today....!!!
