What Will It Take???
I have posted the subject of this thread before. However, time has passed and more scandals have occurred with this administration...I think that it is worth posting again.

There seems to be a number of people here on the DU that honestly believe that Bush will not make it through his second term. Every day you can come here and read about impeachment, and indictments, etc. etc.

My question is: What makes some of you so sure that Bush will "go down" before the end of his second term. I mean, so much crap has happened...any one of which would have meant the end for Clinton...Yet, Bush survives. What will it take???

1. Democratic seats in Congress is what it will take.
The DNC needs to take a lesson from the RNC in the 90s and fund the mid-term elections as though they were the Presidential race. Why? Because in essence, THEY ARE. And I think Dean knows that.

3. It will Take More then That
But the DNC will still have to contend with the election process that got Bush re-elected. No matter how much funding the DNC puts into the mid-term elections, as long as the election process is tainted the results will be the same as the last time, maybe even worse.

The Republicans want a one party government, they already have the voting machine companies in their pockets, they control the MSM, and corporate donations, mainly go to the Repukes.

And let's not forget all those xtian folk who have deluded themselves into thinking that the Republican party is the Party of God.

It's going to take a hell of a lot more then just money.

5. You are so right
One thing I remember clearly about '94 is that the dems didn't put up much of a fight. It was like they figured since Clinton was in, what could go wrong? Rick Lazio's race in my district should have been so easy but not only was there not much effort put into picking someone who could beat him, Lazio also had gobs of cash to outspend his opponent.

If we can get some fresh faces and fresh ideas in '06 and load them down with a nice war chest......we can retake the house. If we try to run all the same incumbents who have gotten us in this mess to begin with, we will lose IMNSHO.

2. I keep Asking The Same Question
Let's see maybe God coming down from Heaven and telling everyone that Bush is an evil man?

On second thought I don't even think that will work!!!

It's no longer a matter of what he does, his kool-aid drinking followers don't care, they don't care about the poor, they truly believe that the tax cuts for the rich and the corporations will create more jobs, they have little regard for the disabled or the elderly, and while they put "support the troops" magnets on their SUV's, they don't care that veterans benefits will be cut to the bone.

What will it take you ask, worst case scenario, it will take a revolution or civil war, and the bloodshed that it brings. Best case scenario, people will start to realize that the Republican party as it is right now, is a party whose programs are little different then the programs of the Nazis, just not so overt or cruel.

6. Fastest: exposed truth about 9/11. Slower: repopulate Congress with HUMANS
