Has MSM/Cable reported "Updates on Gannon/Gurkert? Wolfie, Judy?
Seems "Editor and Publisher" website and others have new info...but wondering if CNN/MSNBC have dropped it. Have to confess...I couldn't turn it on tonight..hoping that those who are "peeking" will fill those of us who want to KILL our TV's will give us some info.

I know...we who can't watch are hypocrits asking those of you who "CAN WATCH" to report for us...but HEY...the weak amongst us who are "strung out" waiting for the Psychiatrist appointment to help us ...are just asking someone who CAN watch to help us out.

Has ANYONE furthered the story "flying all over the internet" about this Gannon, Gurkert jerk?

1. Its not the medias job to tell us how corrupt they are- that's Kerry's job
or Hillary, or Obama or Dean's job.

Top DEmS need to "go on TV" and ask "Why is Bush paying the media to lie for him- and why do *I* have to come on TV and tell your audience about it-thats your job, Wolf..."

2. Well...you make a good point...it's time to hand over to our more visible
SENATORS...not our Dem House Members like Louise Slaughter who has been crawling all over this.

It can't go "Mainstream" according to Kurtz and others if the Dems don't PUSH BACK...but I really think this is just the way the MSMedia Whores try to push their responsibilities onto our Dems...and then they trash our Dems as "PARTISAN."

It's a "Catch 22" here, imho...

3. RIGHT- and not no-name pundits either- but Household name DEMS...
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 07:33 PM by Dr Fate
Dean, Kerry, Hillary, Edwards or Obama can get interviews anytime they want- no one is stopping them from going on TV and "raising questions" and using "hot" phrases that will get headlines.

"Bush is paying the media to lie for him"

"This needs to be investigated- why is the Republican Congress and the media trying to bury this?"

"No telling who else is on the payroll, eh, Wolf?"

Time to take on the GOP/MSN head on- or they will continue to roll over us...

You are right- the GOP/MSN has left it up to us- oh well- so its up to us.

4. The Dems need to put Wolfie etal on notice by introducing a new term..
"Quid pro quo." Quid pro quo is better than payola because it includes the MSM, which may not be getting monthly checks, per se from the administration. But they are certainly benefitting financially by shilling for them.

5. "Swing voters" dont speak latin. "Lie" is a word everyone knows.
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 07:38 PM by Dr Fate
"Bush pays the media to lie for him."

Much simpler, much easier to understand, and it will get their goat and make them more defensive.

6. Bush Pays Media t o Lie for Him! What a great ad...if we had any kind
of MSM Press we could get this across with a banner! Anyone remember the old days of "Paula Jones, Tripp, Monica" when MSNBC and Geraldo went day after day on this issue? Geraldo tried to take Clinton's view (he was married to a Dem at that point) but he gave a huge voice to what became the "Bushistas" that we are dealing with now. "Cliff May, Joe DiGenova, Vicky Toensing (Joe's wife), Ted Olsen (of Gore 2000 fame) and the other folks who NOW regularl appear as foes of Dems on MSNBC/CNN and FAUX... It all started back in the 90's with the "Hunting of the President..Clinton" by the RIGHT WING and the MEDIA CONGLOMERATES...

:grr:

Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 07:52 PM by Dr Fate
And besides- the MSM would not run them.

But the MSM CANT stop Kerry, Dean, Hillary, Obama etc from saying it to Wolf BLitzers face in a live interview.

benefit of voters of any ilk. of course you're right. The average voter wouldn't know what it means. But the media sure knows what it means. It could be used to put the media on notice that they are in danger of being connected with such an arrangement.

8. Actually, that IS the media's job
The reason our founders created a free press was so that there would be a Fourth Estate to report on and challenge the governmental establishments of the three branches.

Now, it's not their job to out-and-out say, "these people are corrupt," but it is their job to at least report on all the facets of an issue, like the Gannon/Guckert ordeal, so that the people will KNOW there is corruption. At least, they shouldn't be accussatory in a straight news article, but pundits and opinion writers certain can!

10. The media's job is to promote Bush & sell candy bars.
As soon as we understand that, the better off we will be.

This is not 1973.

13. Amen Brother!
Until Dem's start taking DIRECTLY at those in the media for not doing their jobs honestly, they will continue to get their asses handed to them. They need to make the media an issue in a big way.

12. Can't schedule CNN into your life? Use Transcripts
I depend on Transcripts to give me accurate quotes and or to catch up on what I couldn't see.

14. NYT had a great article on it today
One that ignored the whole sex-thing and focused on what's really outrageous: That this fake news reporter was given WH press credentials at the WH.

15. I checked out "Olberman" cause DU'ers love him. Good on the new
give aways to our Freedoms (those Identity Cards passed this week by the House) but I didn't hear a word about "Gannon/PoppyGate." Maybe I missed it...I have to mute the commercials and I was trying to get through it all.

Why did the story die tonight when there so much NEW info in the way of interviews and more questions about him?

Geeze...maybe they are just taking a break?
