I have four messages on the back of my car:

1. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS (a conventional yellow ribbon, bought at Albertsons).
2. John Kerry for President bumper sticker.
3. Cultivate Peace (a magnet ribbon from hungersite.com).
and
4. Support Fisher House, Helping our Vets when they Need it the Most (license plate frame).

I think that the GOP has almost succeeded in appropriating the "Support our troops" yellow ribbon symbol, and this bothers me. It reminds me of the US flags that a lot of GOP cars sported. We should not allow the GOP to claim this symbol! I think the whole thing is a little silly, BUT I know a lot of people who don't. We Dems need to sing out this message as loudly as the GOP, so they can't claim the subconscious message of "supporting the troops" as their own.

I wish that the Democratic Party would develop a simple "support our troops" ribbon.

I put mine right next to my John Kerry sticker.
