Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 07:22 PM by Justice

Being Introduced by a Veteran!

Former Dean supporter!

Says he supported Dean b/c of anti-war status.

Says he doesn't support Kerry b/c of IWR vote.

Kerry has had a makeover in Iowa - says don't buy it.

Crowd very quiet.

8. Vet Is Really Slamming Kerry
saying that Mayors and other people in MA have had to go to other senators to get things done for MA.

Saying Kerry has run a senate office - and now he wants to run the white house.

Clark has had executive experience.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 07:44 PM by Justice

Other party talks alot about family values but talk about family values is to divide people -

If you talk about family values, talk about what it takes for your family.

FV about jobs

about health care

about education

Party that is not interested in Job, Health Care, Education, Environment - not interested in family values.

69. Wow. I LOVE the way he's talking about teaching
as a leadership paradigm. That teachers need to be empowered to lead and that NCLB undermines that. Fascinating way of tying it into his themes...and he's right, of course.

72. Does not support NCLB
Our greatest leaders are our classroom teachers. We need to pay our teachers what they're worth.

Standardized tests......if you grade schools, you grade teachers...then teachers will be doing nothing but tests. Broaden standards. Don't punish schools that are doing poorly. Don't take away their funding.

Listen to him! NO Teleprompters!!!!

:D Made point kids may not speak English at home and not do well in School. Nutty to take thousands out of budget if they can'ty pass tests.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 08:27 PM by tishaLA
MUST be race-based affirmative action, Clark says. Need to have individual variances, but we cannot get rid of race-based affirmative action. Clark doesn't take "reverse discrimination" bullshit.

talks about how military does it.

On edit: Oh! Wes is talking about race to white people! LOL. And they applaud his answer!

You know Clark is a B+ and steadily improving on giving stumps, but in the Q&A afterwards he is in a class unto himself, combination of knowledge and connection with the audience. wow

I felt the way he handled the Kerry stuff was class act. His comments as part of the speech... and I totally marked out with the quiet comments to the voters who were complementing him on the handling of it, and the comments about Kerry from the Vet in the intro. the quiet, awe shucks, almost embarrassed, "I didn't know he was going to say that..." masterful.

he is just awesome, I think New Hampshire is going to give Clark a strong showing.

How does he keep getting better and better?
At some point it seems like he'd have to level off.

This was friggen great.
And I was very impressed with the caliber of questions
from the crowd. Excellent questions.
