A couple of the names are the same but there are also a couple of different ones and a few more gory details about who these folks are connected to.




* Board member Bill Fairbrother "has been active in politics since 1984 when he joined the Baylor University College Republicans. Since then, he has served as a delegate to four Republican Party of Texas state conventions and an alternate delegate to one convention. At the 2000 Republican Party of Texas Convention, Bill was elected by his fellow county chairs to serve as the Texas Republican County Chairmen's Association's liaison to the State Republican Executive Committee. * Board member Steve Findley "has been active in politics since 1984. He is past president to both the East Texas Baptist University College Republicans and the Marshall Young Republicans. He has also served as chaplain for the Texas Young Republican Federation. Since 1984, Mr. Findley has served as a delegate to numerous county and Republican Party of Texas state conventions. In 2000, he was elected to serve as the national delegate for Senate District #1 to the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. Mr. Findley currently serves as a member of the Rules Committee for the State Republican Executive Committee and is active in the Harrison County Republican Party."

* Board member and vice president of operations Terri Hillhouse "came late to serious political activism. She is very interested in restoring family values and preserving our American system for future generations. Terri is a member of Colorado Federation of Republican Women, her county Republican organization, The Christian Coalition, and Concerned Women of America."

* Board member Kerri Houston "is a public policy analyst and expert in media, marketing and external relations for public policy institutes. * Treasurer Kathleen Eberle (Bobby Eberle's wife) is "active in grass roots Republican Party politics. In 1996, she was elected to the board of the Houston Young Republicans (HYRs) as the Director of Club Development, -- leading the club to almost double in size in one year. Kathleen served as Vice President of the HYR for the next two years. In 1998, she was appointed as the Texas Young Republican Federation Convention Co-Chairman. She served on several committees within this organization over the years, and chaired the Site Selection Committee in 1999. Kathleen's activities within the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) include serving as an alternate to the Senate District 13 Convention in 1996 and as a delegate in 2000. 8. Someone in Delaware

got some info to the News Journal regarding the gay sites Guckert registered and info about the back taxes. It's up on DelawareOnline today. I don't know if they had a friend at the NJ or if they just called someone or submitted it. I was surprised that the NJ even printed the update, which may mean they'd be open to more info.

Eberle looks to be about the right age to be fighting in Iraq. Why isn't he over there fighting for all he believes in? Hell, they're ALL of the right age to fight in Iraq when you consider we have Grandfathers and Grandmothers serving over there in the Guard. Why aren't these gung-ho, America; right or wrong, flag waving, flag WEARING idiots putting their muscle where their mouths are?

The biggest muscle in their bodies IS their mouths. More chickenhawks from the right. There is an endless supply of them.

Daily Muddies the Legal Waters

A new election spat took shape last week, pitting Janet Engvall McTigue, Democratic candidate for Williamson County Attorney, against the Austin American-Statesman and the daily's Williamson Co. editor, Gary Susswein, in which the daily has apparently sidestepped a legal roundhouse with national implications.

On Oct. 22, the Statesman published a piece by reporter Melissa Ludwig detailing several "new questions" about McTigue's career and her legal experience. According to the daily, there are discrepancies between what McTigue has said about her professional experience and what "public records show" to be her real experience. As evidence, the daily reported that McTigue's Web site says that "she has been a licensed attorney for 14 years and has experience in executive management, finance and law – most of that in California" when in fact she has only been "licensed to practice law in any state for only about two years."

Shortly after the paper hit newsstands, McTigue fired off an e-mail to Susswein, writing that the article was an "example of a young reporter being used as the mouthpiece" for the Williamson Co. Republican Party. County GOP Chair Bill Fairbrother provided the Statesman (and the Williamson County Sun) with a packet of materials regarding McTigue's licensing and credentials, and McTigue wrote that the daily relied on those "smear attacks provided ... by partisans" to report the story, instead of relying on its own "investigative work."

Meanwhile, McTigue is frustrated and angry. The daily failed to present the whole story, she said, and they don't seem to care. "They got their story out there ... and walked away from it," she said. "And the damage is done."
