We need OUR OWN Gannon -- Help me with this idea !

Now,I know nothing, as I should, about how you become a press corps member (I mean for everyone except Gannon) but wouldn't this be a golden opportunity for us to get someone similar from our side -- a progressive internet news site personality to get credentials and hopefully be able to ask the questions that the silent, whimpy, MSM will not?

How could they deny this, given the way they embraced Gannon?

Maybe, just maybe, we could somehow get to ask the truth of this evil empire??

Getting in to the White House will be nearly impossible. And getting to ask the pResident any useful question is not allowed in their controlled little world.

This comes down to one of two things. Either the MSM gets a revolution from within, and starts asking the tough questions, or people like us just go around the media, and gain credibility by finding solid news items.

and she has a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University and has worked for several LEGITIMATE news organizations and she was refused a press pass for the White House Press Conferences.

Funny, isn't it, that the Porn guy got to ask Bush questions when a qualified journalist like Helen Thompson has been relegated to Siberia in the Press Room.

the Gannon debacle.

Randi was sort of laughing/complaining that she has to share an office with her producers and technicians while Al and Katherine have their own private offices and how hard it is for her to concentrate. Randi said that while she was trying to read, she kept hearing the producer (I forgot her name-sorry) calling the White House over and over and over about getting the Press Pass.

Randi talked for quite awhile about how wrong it was for a fake journalist to get into the White House Press Corps when legitimate journalists like her producer are refused/rejected.

I don't know if it is possible to get a transcript of Randi's show but it was reported yesterday, Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, on air. I heard it with my own two ears.

Gannon was a government-produced, paid propagandist on behalf of a radical right-wing.

We have more honor and integrity than that and to suggest we create our own "Gannon" is just, plain repulsive to me.

We have "the facts" and a genuine interest in our people's future on our side. We cannot possibly be compared to a "Gannon". x(

11. There is an opportunity here to protest .

We could demand equal treatment. We could bang on doors metaphorically by raising our voice in demand.

A list of people could be submitted with the WH selecting one. NONE have to be like Gannon - weakly qualified, used, set up, and with a colorful sideline. We would need our person to be 100% qualified with a degree in journalism or long experience reporting politics and in the employ of or the head of a news organization.

If Gannon had been a Dem during the Clinton admin...every hothead Republican would be on every show hour shouting and screaming.

At least two of our Washington Representatives have raised their voice - diplomatically, and within our/their judicial rights, and are subsequently waiting for a response from the administration.

This is an opportunity to justifiably and responsibly drawing attention to the lopsided political manuevering by demanding balance.

In the end, this WH will revert to the standards for admission - but why let them claim that they took responsibility for getting it straightened out?

Fight them politically - legally and professionally.

That is what standing up means.

as a vehicle, bully pulpit, to force them to allow a much more qualified (that could be most of the population)internet-based progressive to get credentials. Make a big sqwack. Compare our candidate to Gannon and demand admittance. This may be a first step to getting ourselves heard. 2nd step -- figuring out how to get them to call upon this person to ask a question.
