Presidential Prayer Team calls for "God's Wisdom" re: Bush budget review

http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org/

As the President has called for a firm commitment to "God's priorities" in his address at the National Prayer Breakfast, pray that all leaders in our nation will truly commit their hearts and minds with discernment to what matters most to Almighty God, including "hearing the cries of the poor and the less fortunate." Pray that all in need will be wisely served whether they are victims of a tragedy halfway around the world, or those hurting and marginalized in our own cities.

Now that the proposed Federal Budget has been submitted to Congress, pray for wisdom on the part of all who must examine it and make decisions regarding its viability. Pray for God's gracious wisdom and help so that a good balance will be struck between fiscal restraint and provision for the programs most important for all Americans.

Pray for the President and his team as they continue working to strengthen freedom and peace around the world. As significant gains have been made in Afghanistan, Palestinian territories, Ukraine and most recently, Iraq, pray that those newly elected will be burdened to work for the greatest good of the people they serve, and that God's wisdom and values will guide them.

As First Lady Laura Bush has made the positive development of youth—particularly boys—a great priority for the next four years, pray for her efforts to reduce gang violence and provide support and help for at-risk youth. Pray for fathers in our nation, especially those of marginalized and low-income families, to be strengthened in their roles and to keep a consistent and loving presence in their children's lives.

1. Come On, God. One well placed lightening bolt....
Just kidding. I think. Well, You decide. Maybe there are 3 or 111 bolts that would really make this place closer to Heaven than Hell.

2. Ummmm... which God is he praying to?
The God of the Crusades and the Inquisiton or Jesus - the man of true compassion and liberal policies?

His budget sure screws the poor and satisfies the rich.

3. "hearing the cries of the poor and less fortunate"
pray that his budget doesn't go through and put millions more families out on the street.

4. OK, Junior.... you asked.
Here's God's wisdom. Or at least His Son's which should be close enough.....

From the 5th chapter of Matthew

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

12. Yeah, why aren't 'Christians' fighting to put the beatitudes
in public places?

Because these 'Christians' are far more comfortable with judgement, death, pointing fingers, condemning people, and bludgeoning people with their 'morality'.

5. I see mothers don't qualify for prayer; just fathers.
Gotta got all those politically correct niceties in place.

However, I don't think he listens very well.

13. These "prayer breakfasts" are Rev. Moon-influenced gatherings & covers
for the very UN-Christlike agenda of the PNAC Dominionists. And this thing with Laura Bush & the gangs just doesn't smell right, ya know? Somehow smacks of being way, way contrived. Here's an idea for her: do "Wife Swap", except with a poor single mom - call it "Life Swap". Make her try to live for 3 months as so many of us do. At the end of the first month, cut any assistance she gets - tell her it's because the program "wasn't working". Make sure sometime in the three months she gets sick and/or unemployed from her mimimum-wage job. (Sorry to stray from the prayer breakfast topic, but I'd LOVE to see this...)

14. Praying to god.
I wonder if these scumbags ever consider that Jesus, supposedly god's son, approves of the killing they do and suffering they inflict upon people around the world and in Amerika?

16. Perhaps because He doesn't. Approve, that is.
These posers have no idea of the mind of Christ. Shame, because you can find it right there in the NT.
