Candidates in the coming debate better not attack Dean for his IA speech
I am sure this topic will be brought up. If the candidates turn into emotional prudes and act like what he did was "crazy" or whatever, it will backfire BIG-TIME!

I am not a hard-core Dean supporter. But I admire his genuine emotion, enthusiasm and passion.

Dean has in spades what all all his mediawhore critics lost long ago: real HEART and SOUL.

2. Yeah, it would backfire something fierce --
The thing has already lost its power. It's been repeated too much for it to have any effectiveness. Nobody will give a rip. It's last week's ho hum ho hum already. They would look like dolts.

6. If someone does bring it up
Dean should laugh along with everyone else. Showing that you have a sense of humor about yourself can go a long way to defuse other's ridicule of you. It also would show that Dean is above the ridicule.

5. This lynch mob attack on Dean is one of the cruelest public stonings
I have seen since Clinton.

This sneering at the expense of a man trying to raise the spirits of his supporters in the face of such a shocking disappointment and used as fodder for public ridicule is right out of the Rovian playbook. You all make me sick to be an American today.

11. 'Couldn't agree more - he has energized moribund party like no one
I have ever seen except maybe Jerry Brown. Now they are stealing his message while laughing and scorning him. Kerry, the new found populist, in his ten million dollar house and Edwards the 38 million dollar "po" boy - one of these two phoneys will be the Democratic candidate? If so, - color me green!

John Edwards has spent his life kicking the living shit of corporations and insurance companies...

23. Maybe so, but there is something I don't trust about him.
He just seems very manipulative. He talks about "two America's" yet when pinned down he didn't seem to have anything concrete to do about it (too risky politically) other than to allude to it. Plus did you see the way he snapped viciously at Carol Moseley Braun when she questioned him at the last debate? Gephardt handled her criticism of him very well - but Edwards turned and snarled at her - I'll never forget the look on his "sweet" face. Another thing I can't stand is how he patently plays to the women in the audience.

"I do not love thee, Dr. Fell,
the reason why I cannot tell,
bu this I know and know quite well,
I do not love thee, Dr. Fell."

26. Edwards has the same passion as Dean.
I think he presents it better, but even if you disagree, you can't discount Edwards' passion. He's got it, even if he's charming to boot.

25. Nothing cleaves harder than the knife of your brother
We can expect derision from Limbaugh and that ilk. But when people who claim the same party affiliation pick up on those attacks, it is near painful. Yes, it makes me question my overall loyalty to the party. It is a self-destructive reaction to realizing the people I thought had similar views on the world as I did, don't.

None of them are stupid, after all. However, Dean himself might make some sort of joke out of it. Tricky, but it could pay off.

9. I Don't Think They'll Need To, But Consider This
Even if Dean starts to recover in NH, one TV ad of that scream and maybe his "sit down and shut up" bit to the Iowa Republican jerk and he's hurting again.

Then imagine Bush doing the same thing.

IMO, Dean is irreparably damaged now, and for that and many other reasons he should not be our nominee.

12. Why are the Corporate Media showing this video now?
I've seen plenty of videos of Dean ranting and raving just like the one that's on TV now. In fact, the GOP had a video on their website of Dean that's just as, er, untelegenic as the one from Iowa, and they have had it for months.

Why are the Corporate Media showing this specific video, over and over and over again? Why now? How come they didn't show videos like that last month? There are plenty to choose from.

I'm somewhat neutral on the candidates.

But, I think what Dean did and what he has done is good. Whether he wins the nomination or not, he is doing the entire party a favor. The others have learned that they have to find some blood to circulate through their body and thought. Dean has led the way in issues, enthusiasm, and in resisting sass from every angle.

He is the exact person to generate causes and to get traumatized Dems moving.

The more Pukes criticize, the more you realize that he is the guy they are afraid of. Reverse truth.

Also...remember how enthusiastic Leiberman got on the announcement of his nomination in 2000 - there was no criticism that I remember. Hypocritical media.

You should be appreciated, Howard Dean.

Kerry's response to Brokaw last night after the SOTU address was perfect. He said it wasn't his place to comment on it, and he did it gracefully.

That's a garbage response...

Yeah great, just let the mediawhores spread their emotional prudishness all over the god-damned country, while * spreads lies left and right.

Great move, Kerry.

What would you have him say? Dean stuck his foot down his own throat - do you expect Kerry to pull it out for him?

None of the other candidates are under ANY obligation to help Dean's campaign. Quite the opposite.

20. If it's brought up it'll be by the media whore
moderator of the debate, and the rest will likely refuse to comment, or say good things about it.

Shoot, I'm not even a fan of Dean and I thought it was awsome! Can't for the life of me figure out what the big deal is.

30. They don't need to bring it up.
The media is doing a much better job of burning it into the national consciousness than the candidates ever could at the debate.
