Love It!! They're Screamin'.....What Would Jesus Do???
Been following this for awhile and see it again on the evening news tonight. I live among these people and cannot help but fist pump and laugh.

There is this group of older people who have wanted to trash Medicare and vomit at the suggestion of Hillary-Care (a national healthcare plan) because they worked for big companies who PROMISED them healthcare to them and the surviving spouse until death for pennies. Now, it's become the big corporate thing to fuck these retires in the name of "being able to compete and employ the younger employees--(read that as "we can outsource these jobs and pay squat for it all). These corporations are dumping them and/or raising their 'payment contributions' to killer amounts.

Tonight the report featured one of them trying to lead an online revolt (hahaha--good luck, moron) because he's saying that they live every day in FEAR of what will be next in the mail about their insurance. GOOD--now they know how most Americans live. Now they can look around their comfortable home and KNOW that between the two of them and their medical needs, it will have to be sold and they will be become the "new poor" priced out of any decent housing in order to just stay alive.

These are the same bastards I encountered in church who preached their Republican shit and very Jesus-like (cough, cough) thought that other's should "eat shit if not cake" (sarcasm). Perhaps if they had followed the true teachings of Jesus and fought for both universal healthcare and shoring up of Medicare, etc., they would not be where they are today. I think Jesus may have just told them what comes of making "corporate America" one's lord and savior. As we know---some have to learn by pain. Bring it on................

4. I agree with you
If they were true Christians they would've realized Bush's policies by now. Up until now nothing has bothered them. But now it is bothering them and they are being effected. They didn't want to listen to anybody else about it unless they were a republican who thought just like them and they couldn't handle it that democrats were right about something like this. I'm not happy they are hurting but I've always thought that the only reason they'd wake up to what's going on in our country is if either they are effected personally or a "shock and awe" type of thing BushCo would have to do. They were so worried about abortions and same-sex marriage and/or unions they didn't even want to THINK about issues such as the economy or health care.

2. You nailed it. This is really just corporations hellbent on
globalization and using that as the excuse to drop ANY benefits to labor. See the Businessweek article "The Benefits Trap" at
www.businessweek.com/magazine/ content/04_29/b3892001_mz001.htm

This passage in the article gives the game plan away:

""Perhaps most important, in the global economy, long-established U.S. companies are competing against younger rivals here and abroad that pay little or nothing toward their workers' retirement, giving the older companies a huge incentive to dump their plans."

In other words, in order for globalized corporations to compete with themselves in third world cheap labor markets they must de-benefit the first world workers and keep the profits to further the 'Race To The Bottom'. First one there wins the booby prize !

So, sacrifice the older workers first. Stip anyone nearing 'vesting' in the company pension plan. Shift the pension plan from defined benefits to defined contribution plans (if there's a plan at all).

Socialize all labor costs to 'society' at large ... both healthcare and retirement plans, Privatize the profits.

Jesus would do the same, right ?

I remember when these folks used to make fun of "Hillary Care" and Democrats in general.
Now (as you pointed out) their Gods (corporations) are sticking 3 inch wide poles up their asses and these same fuckers NOW want Universal health-care.
So who did they vote for? You fucking guessed it ...George Bush.

A small part of me wishes all the worst for them.....

So sad, too bad. I saw a news story the other day where this hick was saying "Well, I voted Republican, but it don't look like it's workin' out so good". Duh.

I don't the least bit sorry for these people. We tried to warn them, but nooooo...they couldn't "relate" to Kerry, so they voted for the Chimp. I hope every time their insurance gets jacked up and their benefits are reduced, they think about how they voted on election day.

We TRIED to tell them...we TRIED to warn them...but would they listen?? NOOOOOPE!!

It'll NEVER affect ME!! And, besides, Bush is gonna protect us from the terrarists, and the shame of havin' to 'splain the gay couple that lives two doors down from us!!

Oh, they would NEVER take away OUR healthcare, pensions, and benefits...so who gives a fuck if they take away everyone else's, as long as they will stop them scary gay guys from gettin' hitched!!

Yeah, well...NOW who looks like the HORSE'S ASS?!?!?

Fuck you...you voted for him, now you get to live with the consequences. No pity from me to you...I FUCKIN' TRIED TO WARN YOU, BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN WHEN IT MATTERED!!

Fuck you, I'm going down, thanks to YOUR vote...and the only satisfaction I get from it is to know YOUR ass is coming down right alongside mine!!

Fuck you, Bush voters!! Fuck every last one of you stupid sons-a-bitches!! No sympathy is forthcoming from me!!

You pauperized me, you demonized me, you dehumanized me because I am a transsexual, you refused to grant me equal status in the eyes of the law...and NOW you come crying. FUCK YOU!!! You voted for him, asshole...remember??

Remember how great you felt when you got to fuck me even harder by voting for that fucking Chimp? well...you wanted the Chimp...you got the Chimp...now YOU live with it!!

Maybe in 2008, if there is an America left by then...maybe you'll FINALLY wake up!! And when you finally cast your vote CORRECTLY...maybe then I'll find it in my heart to forgive you the years of pain, suffering, pauperization, humiliation, poverty, and loss of dignity you caused me!

Till then, FUCK YOU, BUSH VOTER...you bought this on yourself...and now, I am laughing at you.

of them sharing the karma of their vote. When I tell them about Bush's plans to jettison the health insurance tax breaks, they can't believe he'd "turn away" from those who supported him like that.

Mean as it is, I've perfected a thin, sardonic smile for them. I enjoy it, especially the ones who got in my face November 3rd.

I warned them then, too.

Get all you can out of it, but conserve some. We'll get our revenge. It may be evil, but it's damn, DAMN sweet.

19. It IS rawther a challenge to find any sympathy for them.
NOW is the time to start driving a HUGE, and VERY PERMANENT wedge between these voters and the republi-CON party. The Bad Guys may just have overreached, folks. SEIZE THE TIME!!!!!!

What we need to do now is a little bit of ACTING (why not? It's Oscar season!) when we encounter people like this. VERY VERY gently and as non-judgmentally as you can, murmur something brief and discouraging about this - like maybe: (shaking your head in sorrow, with an audible sigh) "I guess that's what happens when we vote Republican..." Or "Yeah... (sigh, shaking head) I trusted those Republicans too."

It may be MOST shrewd to make like you're one of THEM, you trusted the jackals and you're now getting screwed, too. PLANT THE SEED. PLANT THE SEED. PLANT THE SEED. PLANT THE SEED. PLANT THE SEED.

As with most seeds, you don't have to stick them too far down in the dirt. Just a little water and the right fertilizer and they'll take root by themselves. Just ONE little one-liner like this can get them thinking, and give kkkarl rove and ed gillespie and ken mehlman some never-ending nightmares.

What you'll be doing is souring potential voters on wanting to vote republi-CON EVER EVER EVER EVER again.

We HAVE to start equating voting Republican with NEGATIVE FEELINGS, CONCEPTS, AND VIBES: feelings of discouragement, being lied to, being bait-n-switched, being sold a load of snake oil, betrayal (THAT is a big one), being screwed - and BEING SCREWED BY SOMEONE YOU TRUSTED, being preyed upon and picked clean so the have's can become have more's.

This is how they poisoned the well with the word "liberal." TIME TO TURN THE TABLES, guys. Especially when the truth is on OUR side, and when so many of us tried so desperately hard to warn them.

NO "I TOLD YOU SO'S" of ANY SORT!!!!!!!! Okay? This has to be done delicately.

Because what we need to do is start reversing the march farther and farther toward the wrong wing. We want to make it damn near unthinkable to vote republi-CON. We want to foster such a bad taste in "the heartland's" mouths that the instinct becomes inbred - "Man, I'll NEVER make THAT mistake again!"

Leave bush out of it. Leave Clinton out of it. Just promote the concept that "Republican" = BAD.

This is a golden - no, make that PLATINUM, ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME opportunity, guys. We can start turning this mess around. We can make it bad, unwise, ill-advised, stupid, even uncool, to vote republi-CON. That will tip more and more voters back toward the Democrats for maybe a generation or two.

I don't think we get very far by blaming them. We need to make them part of the solution to get rid of this cabal. They were duped. They have brought about their own grief by being ill-informed.
The Neocons have infiltrated BOTH parties and instead of sitting back and being smug about their suffering (to which I want to scream, "I told you so you frigging idiots"), we need to get them to realize the difference.

39. Excellent post.
As Bush spends his second term continuing to be the worst president in history it is important that democrats always blame the republican party for everything Bush does wrong. This should be done on every issue. In 2006 and 2008 we need voters to hold the republican party, not Bush, accountable. Nothing should be Bush's fault, everything should be the republicans' fault.

28. I say we call these people Post-Republicans, because they're not
real Republicans in the sense of respecting the tenets of free enterprise and libertarian-like approach to government's power to impinge on the liberty of the individual.

Instead of free enterprise, it's manipulated markets. Instead of individual liberty, it's the power of the state (in the name of the war on terror) to do anything it wants to, including disappearing you.

Pos-Republicans. Still R's in name, but led over the cliff by the bullies who've used them and will never give them a second thought.

I guess this is one case where you really could say that karma ran over their dogma.

31. have to repeat what I said above
voting for RepubliCONs has put these fascists in power. I reject any attempt to distance the pain their policies cause from the Republican party.

Fact is, there are a lot of "moderate" Republicans who are appalled at the fascists who have taken over the party. But they weren't appalled ENOUGH - because they still vote Republican, and it is the NUMBER of Republican office holders - not the individual representatives' position on the issues - that gives the Pukes total control of the government, and near control of the courts.

If you don't like what's happening, don't vote for Republicans. Period. I don't care whether the specific candidate is moderate, or even liberal. If s/he's got an "R" after his/her name, you're enabling the fascists by voting for them.

For some people, the principles aren't really important. "Republican" and "Christian" are just brand logos for them.

It's called being a follower, or an adherent. And if you're going to turn off your critical faculties, and just follow, you better be damn sure when you choose your "brand" that the people you're following really embody those principles, and really give a shit about you.
