KY: Planned Parenthood Loses Title Ten Funds
http://wave3.com/Global/story.asp?S=2933950

For nearly 30 years, Planned Parenthood has provided health care and family planning services for low income women in Louisville, but Thursday night fear of the local organization's national ties to abortion had Louisville Metro Council members debating the need to keep giving the organization federal grant money.

Several members of Right to Life organizations spoke against keeping the Planned Parenthood contract. "Planned Parenthood is a killer in this war," said one woman.

Another anti-abortion supporter blamed the national organization for lowering the birthrate of African Americans, "African Americans are not even replenishing ourselves, we are committing genocide with the help of Planned Parenthood."

After a lengthy discussion many council members seemed confused about exactly what they were voting on. "What are we voting on now?" asked Metro Council President Barbara Shanklin. Despite the confusion, they voted anyway, agreeing to keep Planned Parenthood's contract until June but recommending that the city open bids for the Title Ten funds and not use Planned Parenthood.

2. Kudos to Connie
"anti-abortion supporter" She's removed the pro-life frame. Good for her. That's something, anyway.

3. Very Sad But
Let's hope that when the bid process is opened, people will see just how broad an organization PP is.

4. I'm sure some "faith-based" clinics will open...
Counseling against abortion in all cases.

Of course, they'll also counsel against birth control. I wonder how many abortions Planned Parenthood has prevented over the years--by helping women avoid unwanted pregnancy?

5. Judging from the pro-life vandalism, I wouldn't be surprised
Quite a few stop signs and such have stickers under the word "STOP" that read "abortion"

And the damn things have been up for weeks.

I bet if I put a "war" stick under the word "stop" it would be gone in a day.

8. How about you go around and replace the word 'abortion'
with 'vandalism' instead. Think they would get it?

9. Since PP's provide low cost family planning and health care...
I guess the citizens of Louisville won't
mind their local hospitals picking up those
costs and traffic instead.

Wake up America before it's too late.
