1. I was just thinking
I wonder if Clark won the Dem nomination, if the rightwing would do what they did to John Kerry.. attack his military record.

5. He said the Dems need to be a "full service party"
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 05:32 PM by Leilani
that Americans need to know Dems are as good on FP & Natl Security.

He also criticized the Bush Admin for lack of leadership on the issues of North Korea & Iran.

Also, he refused questions about a future run; said he's in business, but he wore the uniform & served his country for years & wants to stay involved.

6. First topic was N. Korea. Wolfie tried to trap Clark on the issue
of the 6 party talks. Clark, who worked on tne NK issue under Clinton, said the US needs to talk directly to the NK's, Wolfie tried to say that the there could be bilateral talks as the 6 party talks were going on. Clark said fine, but the issue is we have to be taking the lead. Same thing with the next topic, Iran. Wolfie asked if there was a crisis, Clark said there was no crisis. Said when we went into Iraq, it sent the message to Iran that they better accelerate their nuke program for security, same thing that NK did.

The bottom line for Clark is that we should be LEADING talks. He said we were giving away our geopolitical strength in Asia by horsing around with NK. He said that the Clinton Admin. drew a red line and was ready to go to war if NK reprocessed nuke fuel. Bushco has never drawn a red line.

Wolfie then asked him if he planned to run and Clark repeated the "I'm in business" thing and they went around and around. Basically, he didn't say NO.

Clark was in Little Rock, BTW
