So, when will MSM consider it safe to discuss the latest Gannon scandal?
When will the story make the leap from blogs to the MSM?

I figure the MSM will need to lay it on someone else -- some Democrat who issues a statement about it, so they can report that "Democrats today are charging that Jeff Gannon...."

We'll see who in the MSM has the guts to do some independent digging on this.

2. The story IS out there "loud and proud" but the power over the MSM
will NOT allow it to be reported. When it is reported they use it as a excuse to dis the bloggers (or what they term the blogosphere) as consisting of wild-eyed liberal elites.

We're screwed in the news realm. The sooner we accept it, the better it will be to help and hope that the foreign news services bring out this story so it cannot be easily dismissed as they have successfully done to this point in time.

3. Corp Media is scared of this scandal.
They don't want to delve into it. Why do you think that is so?

4. Because it hits too close to home
How many more of them are not, if out-and-out whores, at least pimps for the Bush Administration payola scheme.

The biggest naysayers on the list include:
Howard Kurtz
Wolf Blitzer
Judy Woodruff (who have all poo-pooed the story)
The cadre at Faux News, who I don't think has even mentioned the story
I think bloggers need to start checking into the big names.

We all know Kurtz wife is an outted Republican operative. There's a start.

5. Yet they are FASCINATED by it! They are salivating to cover it!
It's the sort of thing a lot of them cut their little chihuahua teeth on: SEX SCANDAL AT THE WHITE HOUSE!! Pity that they are all so restrained by the network power structures which live to protect bu$h.

If this shit revolved around a Democrat, there would be nothing else on TV.

7. The foreign media will not report it UNLESS some Democrats raise a stink!
As long as the US opposition remains silent no matter what foreign media (who are responsible to their publishers, too) will not say a word.

When I tell friends what's going on in your country they don't believe me: "And if this were so then why don't we hear anything from the Democrats?"

10. I'm not too sure about that.
The MSM is certainly more servile and cowardly than we've ever seen before. But what they'd fear even MORE than getting the Rather Treatment from Karl Rove, would for the American public to realize just HOW servile & cowardly it is. Ratings would soon drop out of sight.

I'm getting the distinct impression that such consciousness is approaching the critical threshhold, if it isn't already there. Those Talking Rectums who put such high value on "face time" with BushCo, might have to "change their priorities". A well thought out series of bumperstickers, lapel buttons, and midnight graffiti, would help immensely.

8. I remember when Bush headed down to the ranch
for the entire month of August that first year. I thought it was suspicious. I got the impression that he was hiding from something. It was no surprise to me when 911 happened and I have no doubt that they knew and Bush was cowering down at the ranch. Bush is easy to read and his behavior was similar to when he blanched and bit his lip at story time when he was told the news on 911. Now we know officially, but it doesn't seem to make a ripple.

When Bush deliberately singled out this guy at a press conference and guffawed at some inappropriate dig at Democrats, I wondered what the hell was going on. Bush knew it was one of his planted boys and the pretense slipped for a moment and the true arrogant punk nature revealed itself. There was no hiding it, he obviously was looking forward to calling on this plant and was then confident enough to publicly to share some snide remark.

Will it make a ripple?

Hard to say when we are constantly bombarded with a overwhelming tsunami of Bush fear-mongering, lies and deceptions, but the tone of the letters to the editor in my local paper is starting to get angrier and angrier.

11. Now I mean it REALLY fucking scares me
that Clinton and Monica were all over the news, but this isn't being reported. An argument can be made that until the Dem politicians get seriously involved that, in that way, it differs from the Clinton thing -- where the Pukes were impeaching, and screaming it all from the roof.

If our politicians had any fucking balls, this might have a better chance of getting reported.

THAT SAID, for journalists to actively "poo poo" the story is editorializing, and is VERY suspicious. Particularly with the other paid pundits and the right-winging of CNN, that situation with the FOX news anchor who argued with that woman from Vanity Fair, and the fact that the media gave a free pass, and gives a free pass to very grave administration "fuck ups," and, especially the more I find out about how the Journalists are married to or mingling with Republican men and women operatives, coupled with the extent of the tentacles of the VRWC -- makes me think that they're ALL fucking plants. Corporate and regeime lap dogs.

There's no reason to "poo poo" this story -- even if you think that the left has jumped a little to far with its speculation, there's something smoking here -- if freepers weren't so goddamn delusional, and could still use their common sense, they'd realize it, too. And the journalists -- if you see smoke, you at least LOOK for the fire, even if it turns out just to be a smokestack or somebody burning leaves. You don't tell everyone to turn the other way and watch a Michael Jackson perp walk, while the possibility of fire sneaks up behind them.

12. I think we need to look to the foreign press to cover it. MSM in this
country is so staunch in their nonreporting of anything negative about the Bush administration that I'm wondering if the whole lot of them might be "on the take."

20. Beautiful picture!
Of course the Gannon/Guckert Gay porn fake journalist who was given CIA name info story is DEAD.

Because he's no longer employed. So..he's gone quickly and now he has no more to say...who told him to "resign" anyway? Oh it was cause somebody was mean to his mom-uh huh.

Because the mainstream media is corrupt. Any real journalist could make a splash finding out exactly who gave Gannon is IN at the White House. Who approved this gay Republican prostitute to be a shill for Bush?

But story over..he's no longer there.. it would take WORK, hard work to find out WHO put him there.

WHO?

We know why..to dispense propaganda...to be a friendly face to turn to at press confrences...who know when..since the beginning of the Iraq war..April 2003

What....Jeff Gannon, "pen name" of James Dale Guckert, 47, who only wrote for a "blog" that began publishing four days before he got his "daily" press pass that is directly tied to the Republican party.

Who?

17. I think they need to vet the web developer guy
I just posted this in the thread about Keith Olbermann, but I think they may need to make sure the guy is completely on the level. The story seems almost too good and too easy. I think they need to make sure he isn't another Bill Burkett, and that the story isn't a trap somehow. But I hope they can get whatever validation they need, and quickly.

19. How come nobody will take my bet?
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 01:36 PM by John_H
I'll bet a beer, shipped anywhere in the us, to anyone who will take the position that a single MSM outlet will do a major story on this issue. I'll bet two beers with anyone who'll bet that a high profile dem surrogate will bring this up on national TV. But, sadly, they think the story is dead, too.

21. 100 years from now
when finally enough people have awoken to see what's actually going on, and put an end to the rule of the self-appointed power elites.
If at all, that is.
