Mark's first real foray into comedy began when he decided to bring together all of his acting and musical abilities to write and perform an original one-man sketch comedy show during his senior year at Bates College. The final product, entitled The Epitome of Idiocy, gained widespread critical acclaim from both campus reviews, as well as local news sources. It was performed a total of five times in a small theatre space, with each show selling out well in advance.

After relocating to New York City upon graduation, Mark began working the local stand-up circuit, which included several performances at The New York Comedy Club. After realizing that sketch-comedy was where his true strengths resided, he began writing his second one-man sketch comedy show, entitled Armed & Ridiculous. He performed two shows of Armed & Ridiculous at Roses Turn in Greenwich Village on November 7th and 8th, and has since joined a local sketch comedy troupe, Skeeger. This new show with his long-time friend, John Payne, promises to be his craziest undertaking yet.
