Heady with the cowing of opposition, the neo-cons march toward one of their favorite initiatives: the destruction of Syria.

This gets no press.

This gets little attention here.

We've recalled our Ambassador. We've imposed sanctions.

The Neo-cons want to destroy all opposition to Israel; truly, they are more beholden to that state than ours. One can't mention that, though, because it's tarred as anti-semitic.

Stay tuned. The monarchists are heady with successes of late; times like those are always rife with mistakes. How tidy that a violent act gives pretext for retrenching.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon met with US congressmen yesterday to discuss which countries America should invade next.

Apparently still unaware that Iraq disarmed after the 1991 Gulf War under diplomatic pressure from the UN, Sharon stated that "Iran, Libya and Syria should be stripped of weapons of mass destruction after Iraq."

He described the situation in Iraq since the war "successful". In reality, post-war Iraq is in a state of crisis, facing a multitude of disastrous problems that grow worse with each passing each day. The country is in ruins, and the fighting never stops. So far today, ten hostages have been taken, and a series of explosions has killed dozens of children and over a hundred other civillians.

The Israeli regime also asked America to disarm Libya. Yet the US and UK claim that Libya has disarmed. Bush and Blair have both praised the Libyan dictator, and diplomatic relations between Libya and the US were resumed a few weeks ago. Sharon must know that it was all a pack of lies designed to make the politicians look less like hypocrites when the huge oil contracts were signed a few days later.

It can be safely said that those who consider themselves "Christians" and fall into line behind Bush can be divided into two categories: those that want to take over the world before Christ comes, and those who want Christ to destroy the world so that "if we can't have, nobody can!" The pre-tribulation Rapture folks are this latter group. They're the ones that buy the Left Behind novels in droves and keep that franchise's masters milking it for everything they can get out 'cuz they know the pre-tribbers will just come on back for more. Rabid Pre-Tribbers are the Judeo-Christian version of the Trekkies, when you think about it. But they're also the ones that, I tend to believe anyway, will vote for any candidate, nod approval for any policy, and refuse to stand against anything that actually violates the teachings of scripture, if they believe that these thing will hasten the onset of Armageddon. I heard one Christian tell me recently that George W. Bush was God's chosen instrument to trigger the events that will lead up to the Second Coming.

She was serious.

And there are millions more like her in America.
