progressive, liberal or anti-American radio is here to stay.
Despite the myths from the Broadcast Bullies on the right, Air America's audience continues to grow -- almost 50 stations on the air in its first ten months. Counting their New York flagship as the first one, that's nearly 5000% growth in less than a year. That's more than Limbaugh, O'Reilly and Hannity combined. Holy Schmoley. It seems that progressive, liberal or anti-American radio is here to stay. Then again, O'Reilly and the other Lord of Loud have made it quite clear that progressive stations like KTLK are only on the air due to the financial support of the Democratic Party (read: George Soros).

There's just one thing I don't understand: if that is true, is Clear Channel owned by George Soros? Because that's who owns KTLK. Could it be that the King of FOX is a misinformed? Or is it that he is misinforming you? Take your pick.

It was fun and oddly informational for I had never heard the other side of the political argument before. You know. The side with the facts including Social Security math that literally added up. And the entire show went by without Al trying to sell one book. And he calls himself a talk show host. Most unique. Most not conservative talking point. Most breath of fresh air.

1. Clear Channel just wants ratings money
they are converting the really crappy stations they own to AA/Jones. Those are the old time music stations where the listeners are dying off (Big Band style). Detroit was an exception, as it was right wing talk that went to left wing talk.

6. does anyone remember a few years ago when people on DU...
... the Bartcop forum, and others would jokingly ask "Why do you hate America?" anytime someone posted something that was a blazing strike against Bush?

The point being that if you dissent, the rightwing would accuse you of hating America.

Well, that's what the "unAmerican" line in this article is - a parody of the right's faux patriotism.

So lighten up! :)

13. But thanks for the news on Air America! I ordered Sirius specifically
because of what I have been reading on this board. Sadly, no Air America in my purple state.

Any word on ratings? How are we posting in those markets?
