2. Rumsfeld was put in charge of the Pentagon
expressly to keep Colin Powell in check.

3. I think they did a bit of re-editing from the original
I think they added the voice of the Soldier asking about the "Digging through scrap heaps for Armor.

4. I'm kind of sickened by Dana Priest of the WaPo...
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 11:49 PM by thebigidea
... she mumbled some sort of nonsense about the prison abuse just being some kind of "metaphor" for the poor post-war planning.

I'm sure the rape seemed pretty metaphorical too.

"Geez, Ali - this flashlight in my rectum must symbolize Paul Wolfowitz's snubbing of General Shinseki."

No wonder WaPo is still sitting on hundreds of torture pics - it isn't torture, its a metaphor.

5. Yeah, watching it

I'm pretty sure I saw it last when it aired before; however, can always use a refresh of this old brain. It gave me chills the last time, and this time, I have additional filters in place about Wolfowitz and Cheney -- and even Powell has slid in my view.

Updating my original posting -- it's odd how dated or "historical" the program ended up being. The war is hardly over and we're saber-rattling over Iran -- there is a huge hole in knowledge.

6. I've seen that before
and it's a good documentary to show what's going on. After watching that I was convienced Bush is clueless about foreign affairs and he's just letting Rumsfeld do it all. It's also why he isn't letting Rumsfeld go anywhere. Without Rumsfeld Bush is a lame-duck President (he is though of course).
