Question on Kerry
Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody knew about Mr. Kerry's health care plan "Kids First" and if it has been introduced to the Senate and Congress yet? I recently wrote to my Congressman asking him to look into it and all that and he said that he hasn't seen it yet and he will look into any bill that deals with health care since it's important for us to have and all that. I was wondering if anybody knew about this. Thanks in advanced.

2. Thanks ginny
I had a question on Kerry, if anyone can answer cause I didn't want to post the title thread twice. But has Kerry actually thought about the election fraud in Ohio, Florida, and New Mexico? I would have loved for him to make issue of the fact that so many African Americans were disenfranchied in 2000 on the stump in addition to the church and MLK day.

Tavis Smiley was laughing at Kerry for waiting until MLK day to mention voter disenfranchisment. He also wanted to ask him why he didn't stand up with the Congressional Black Caucus when they wanted to challenge the 2000 election and Florida EV. I don't know if he answered that question, but it would be cool if he said that was he biggest regret (like Sen. Boxer did). That would make him look even better in the eyes of those who felt supposedly betrayed by him and the naysayers.

3. well I watch pretty closely,
and he hasn't really talked about election fraud directly (yet). Being a former trial lawyer and prosecutor, he isn't likely to bring up something like that without evidence--he,of all people saying it, would be immediately attacked for being a sore loser out of touch with reality. I'm sure he's steaming mad about the voter suppression, as you can tell if you read the MLK day speech. I mean, that alone might have cost us the election.

As far as 2000, the story is that Al Gore asked all of the senators not to say anything, so they didn't. I think at the time, it was so unexpected that people didn't really know how to react. And people had no idea what was at stake--just how bad Bush would be, because he ran with a pack of lies about being a compassionate moderate conservative. Huh! And by 2004 the Bushies had changed their tactics again, and weren't detected (yet anyway). I still have hope that someone will come forward with something. I don't know if anyone ever asked Kerry about 2000.

Smiley is getting mileage out of it--but he should try walking in John Kerry's shoes for the 34 years he's been walking around under the microscope in the public eye, and then see if he'd feel like going around shooting his mouth off about something he couldn't prove.

7. Smiley thought Kerry pandered to black churches about issues..
facing Black America, like voter disenfranchisment instead of addressing out on the stump.

5. One thing William Pitt said I wish I had more info on is that...
... the Congressional Black Caucus asked that Kerry NOT be there, so that they could make sure the emphasis was on the vote, and not on the winner and loser. Pitt references it on Truthout, but I don't know what his sources were for that comment.

I'd love to know more, as it would help combat what might be unnecessary flak aimed at Kerry.

8. well like I said above
you can't fight these guys with facts and/or logic anyway--they just sidestep it and go right on lying. Makes for good ratings--red meat for the red voters.
