SNIP..."DFA groups across the state have joined together with each other and with other organizations to fight for legislative reform, a HAVA implementation consisting of a paper ballot with optical scan and ballot marking device system, and are committed to building a statewide network of local DFA groups working together as Democracy for New York.

This coming weekend, February 19-20, over 50 leaders of the many Democracy for America groups across the state will come together at the SEIU 1199 hall in Albany, NY for the 1st Democracy for New York Conference.

We are honored to have as keynote speaker for the conference Jim Dean, new Chair of Democracy for America. Also speaking will be Denise King, Chair of the New York State Democratic Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Dean for America Campaign in New York, as well as State Senate Minority Leader David Paterson. We have a full agenda and it promises to be a busy and fun filled weekend.

Democracy for New York and Democracy for America are moving forward, growing the grassroots, organizing and preparing to join hands in strengthening our Democratic Party. We're on our way to taking our country back!"

Jim Dean, Howard's brother.

2. I like that they are trying to get a HAVA implementation.
That is going to be an active group.
