after sending e-mails, but usually not until at least a month afterwards. For what it's worth, I just sent her the following:
Dear Senator,
I would like to quote you directly from your own website:
“After this lengthy and divisive campaign, I urge Republicans and Democrats alike to put partisan politics aside. We must work together in a bipartisan manner to effectively fight the war on terrorism and address critical needs here at home.” STATEMENT OF SENATOR KAY BAILEY HUTCHISON ON THE RE-ELECTION OF PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH 11/3/2004
With that in mind, how on earth do you justify this?
February 26 Collin County Lincoln Day Dinner with Ann Coulter, Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Susan Combs Soutfork Ranch, Oil Barons Ballroom Plano
I'm fairly certain you are aware of who Ann Coulter is, Senator, so I won't swamp you with quotes...well, just one representative nugget perhaps:
"Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots, and on the matter of America's self-preservation, the difference is irrelevant." -- Ann Coulter, "Treason", P. 16
Senator, I am no traitor. In fact, I'm a proud veteran. I am no idiot. In fact, I am a member of Mensa. I am also a liberal Texan, of which there are quite a few. If you want to be accepted as our Senator, too...if you really do believe we should all work together...please don't share the dais with Ann Coulter. To do that merely widens the gulf. I know where Senator Cornyn stands, he's made that clear. I'll be paying careful attention on the 26th to find out if Democrats even have a seat at the table anymore in Texas.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Richard ///// /////, TX
I had to say something. I thought she had more class than that. I'm going to have to move to a bluer place soon. This is getting hard to take.
