Scandal brewing in the WH? Time for a new TERROR ALERT!
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 06:55 PM by Julius Civitatus
I just posted this observation in my blog, but wanted to share it with you guys.

Remember our now famous Timeline of Terror Alerts? Remember that very revealing chart? I think it's time to bring it out again. Check this out: As soon as the Jeff Gannon/Jim Guckert scandal reached the mainstream media, we had another terror alert today.

Officials Warn of Future Terror Attacks

WASHINGTON - Speaking with one voice, President Bush's top intelligence and military officials said Wednesday that terrorists are regrouping for possible new strikes against the United States.

They said the best defense was for Congress to approve the president's military and anti-terror budget. But some in Congress, including prominent Republicans, were questioning some of that spending.

Offering few specifics on terror threats, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld told a House hearing that the government could reasonably predict attacks would come from terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and other means.

Independently of the potential veracity of these statements, they have overplayed their hand in the past with many terror alerts of no substance. As we pointed before, it's been clear that they used many of the most mendacious terror alerts to bump bad news off the headlines, to divert from incriminating information that could damage the administration. Should we believe them now?

Or maybe it's the Gannon scandal getting too close?

Just wondering...

5. Thought the same thing today when I saw the report on OBL
and Al Queda are planning a "massive" attack inside the US. First thought was, "No, duh." Of course, they are, we have created a 100,000 new terrorists and we are right in the crosshairs of any and everyone. Then, I thought, yep, right on schedule. Bad news = terror alert. Next up, go buy duct tape and plastic sheeting and kiss your a$$ goodbye cause the guvermint told me so.

17. And Let's Don't Forget

PRIOR to 9-11, the fbi was under investigation for mass corruption. On 9-12, those investigations were called off and the fbi was given more power. The game is LAME, besides being transparent.
Let's send the chimp to the zoo where he belongs!

8. There's also reports of Bushies hyping Iran's WMD
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 07:28 PM by Julius Civitatus
It seems like the Bush people have been caught also hyping the WMD capabilities of Iran, just like they did in the run-up of the Iraqi war (as reported at AAR).

10. So what could be nexus between terror and ss? I see how
this bogus strategy works with war-related initiatives, or to call to light that you are a bigger war monger than the other person in an election. But SS ? Could make people think, "Who the hell cares what happens in 2018, we will all be dead from a terror attack"

Hope it's related to PROPAGANDA-GATE

12. I've allways thought the morning of Nov 3, 04
would have been an appropriate time to issue a terror alert.

13. They did! At least in some specific counties
Remember how they issued terror alerts in certain counties in Ohio and Florida, and used them to perform the ballot counting under locked doors, leaving the press and witnesses out.

It was outrageous.

I don't have a link handy to those reports, but look it up. They used a fake terror alert to kick the press and witnesses from the vote counts.

14. I must have missed that
but then I don't pay much attention to them anyway. I figure that when I see the big mushroom cloud over the horizon, that will serve as a pretty good alert.

But it would not surprise me if they had done such.

15. You only get to cry wolf so many times....
There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.

"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"

19. Yep-- that's what Sam Seder was saying on Randi's show
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 09:41 PM by ailsagirl
But he linked it with *'s declining approval numbers.

It's been over THREE MONTHS since we've had a terror alert-- right after they stole the election, the alerts suddenly stopped.

How effing obvious can the repugs get? But this is good because it means they're getting SUPER arrogant and CARELESS.

Anyone ever hear of the word "schadenfreund?"

Well, I confess I'm indulging in it where these crooks are concerned!!
