Do I think Edwards can win? Yes I do. I think he could definely win. If Edwards were the nominee what kind of person would he consider him for VP just of curiousity. I like Edwards, I really enjoyed his speech about the two americas.

Bush II is much more stronger than Bush I due to the issue of terrorism and the fact that most Americans believe the Iraq war was part of the War on Terror. This election will be close like the one in 2000. Edwards can win but he nor any other candidate can win in dominating fashion.

It would never be this close. Edwards couldn't pick off Georgia, probably not Kentucky either, or Montana. But he'd have a good chance in West Virginia, maybe Tennessee, and South Carolina and Louisiana.

It depends on his ticket. Clinton/Gore was loaded with Southernness and they only picked off a few states.

I could definitely see John Edwards carrying states like Ohio and West Virginia, which went for Bush in 2000. Nevada and New Hampshire are also possibilities. And as for the South, I think he could carry a few states, especially if he picks another Southernor (Wes Clark? Mary Landrieu?) to be his running mate. I actually think he has a better chance of carrying Arkansas or Missouri than he does of carrying his home state. But at least he has a shot a picking off a few Southern states, and he'll make Bush work a lot harder than he would otherwise have to.

But I do believe Edwards could carry Ohio and maybe one or two of the southern states which would be enough to carry him over the Gore total of 2000 but nowhere near the clinton total seen here...Although I think Florida may go democrat this year...I think a lot of voters who felt "cheated" the last time out are going to mobilize fiercely in the next election and carry Florida for the Democrats....The Southern States and the Midwest are always a Republican stronghold...maybe a VP choice from one of those states would help if he gets that far....
