DU Action! Call into any RW radio talk show in your area
and say you want to talk about Media Bias. They will try to "filter" your call, so tell them anything ("I'm just sick of the Liberal Media and, and, I just have to get it out of my system".. whatever works - just get by the "filter" that denies 1st Amendment... oops, too 'activist', just get yourself on the air). Go ahead, let them believe you want to rail against the Liberal Media.

Then, once you're on the air, bring up the B*** payola scandals. Top it off with the Gannon/Guckert scandal.

Don't be afraid to be "over the top". They will try to "fluster" you - if so, remember... "it's wrong, it's just wrong. It's not right. they're lying to us, and then lying to us about their lies"

At this point they will have hung up on you.....

Now, write a Letter To The Editor to your local newspaper, with details, about how you called into your local radio station about media bias but your own local media was biased against you and... you get the picture.

We can do this. It's about the Truth. Not Bush's Orwellian "Truth", but what's really happening.

We CAN do this: Unfortunately, nobody else can. That means WE MUST do this!

ARE YOU WITH ME?!?!?!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

4. Yes you may
"Can I bring up the Dan Rather, Eason Jordan, Lynette Holloway and Jayson Blair scandals?" is worth a reply.

Rather's documents were never proved wrong or even fakes just not proven original and their providence was suspicious. Can you say set-up? How did FreeRepublic posters know so much so quickly about them and why does there seem to be connections with Talon news. And to compare a highly credible newsman using questionable zeal to get a story first after years of reliable reporting makes what point?

Eason Jordan, from all indications, is not alone in stating his personal opinion that Al Jazeera and other journalists and camera crews were targeted in Iraq. To take rejoice in taking down a reporter with serious and reality based questions is the height of fear and repression. The circuitous route of this story show it was pushed along by others rather than by it's own news worthiness to crush a career.

On, Holloway I have no pinion. As for Blair if making shit up is bad than most Right-wing pundits and writers should be sacked. The real point is the NYT is a serious paper and it got took, that can happen. Stringing all these assorted happenings together to make a point is not proving anything. But I do have one reply... Mangate Gannon.

2. Kick! Faking a hick or Southern accent is another way

to help get past screeners, according to Freeblogger, who has done this a lot.

No need to lie, by the way. Say "I just want to talk about all that liberal bias."

Then when you get on air, say, "There ain't no more liberal bias! Not anymore, since our President's got a gay hooker in the White House writing up Republican Party press releases and trying to make us all believe that's news. How do you supposed a hooker with no journalism experience, using a fake name, got himself a press pass, anyhow? I reckon Homeland Security and the boys at the White House got some 'splainin' to do--'cause this sure does compromise our national security."

6. OK, somehow my original message was compromised...
(Shit, I almost sound like a politician,,,OR maybe not!).

What I am trying to say is that each and everyone of us can make a difference. I know that here in Nashville we have several radio talk shows that get away with lies and hypocrisy every day. One of the reasons they "get away with it" is because they "filter" their calls.

If a caller gets past their "filter", they just disconnect them without telling the listening audience that they "dropped" them, thereby leaving the audience to believe that the Radio Personality "won" the debate.

What I'm suggesting is that we at least get into the debate.
