After all, he's already a swaggering macho idiot who starts wars to prove to himself that he's a man.

I sincerely doubt he hand much contact with Gannon/Guckert, and I sincerely doubt Bush was the one who got the background check waived.

He wouldn't dirty his manicured hands with such a soiled proposition. The top contenders are Rove and Libby, and possibly Dina Powell.

Somebody certainly went to a lot of trouble to get Guckert in there, even creating a fake news agency so he could have fake credentials.
