The Pope and Bono tipped for Nobel Peace Prize
ITV.com
6.28PM, Thu Feb 17 2005

Pope John Paul and rock star Bono are rumoured to be among the nominees for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko are also thought to be among the 166 nominees.

Relief groups helping with the aftermath of the tsunami disaster, such as Save the Children and Oxfam, are favourites to scoop the £10m Swedish crown prize.

The list of nominees is never known in advance, but it is believed the names have been leaked by people nominating them.

None of these has a prayer...especially JP2 whose only claim to fame would be world monetlaundering prize for the 20th century...
