Remember when Gays were considered security risks?
Again, selective hatred by the Bush misAdministration and Repuglycans in general - they loved "Jeff Gannon".

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines02/1115-03.htm - "US Army Linguists Fired for Being Gay" - all able to speak fluent Arabic . . .

2. Gays Who Fabricate Elaborate Covers DO Represent a Security Risk
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 11:50 AM by Sporadicus
Consider that gays in positions of power & authority who have gone to great lengths to cover up their sexual preference - marriage, children, etc. - are terrific targets for extortion. After all, they're willing to live a lie diametrically opposed to their nature in order to preserve their influential positions.

* is a case in point. Rumor has it that China has the goods on him and are extracting favorable trade arrangements in exchange for sitting on this knowledge.

3. What the hell is the rationale here? (Army, not your post)
I don't see why they'd fire people who have a skillset that we need desperately, just because they're gay. At a time where we're running low on troops, I would think that people who want to serve would be welcome.
