Don't Journalists Have Resumes and/or Bios??
What was Mr. "Gannon's" body (wink) of work when he applied at Talon for the lofty title of whatever it was -- Bureau Chief?

To hear him talk it's like he's been a "journalist" for 2 years and started at the TOP!

Well if you ask me, that WAS his main qualification to get hired at Talon -- being "top" in his field, ahem. So who's the boyfriend? That GOPUSA guy or Rove or who exactly set this whole thing up for him?

Oh I know! They were blown (ahem) away by his writing talent, LOL...

1. The Gannon School of Journalism...
Lesson 1:

1. Turn on computer.
2. Open browser.
3. Type in http://www.whitehouse.gov.
4. Copy.
5. Paste.

End of lesson.

Congratulations! You're now a journalist! Go directly to see Scott McClellan!

:P

2. Gannon went to a 2-day seminar for $50.
It was on the Rhandi Rhodes show. Oh yeah, it was one of those
"republican speak" stuff w/ connections to Jerry Falwell.

Go figure.

Hired by Talon News? Hello? It is a Web site w/ ties to GOPUSA and was up and running exactly 96 hours before Gannon got his press pass.

Why don't they arrest this guy?

3. Damnit! I spent five years (one year of interning) and several
thousand dollars in grants and scholarships and out-of-my-own-pocket money to get a Communications degree and I could have taken this two-day seminar for $50?
Man, how stupid was I?
:eyes:

6. Clark - I feel your pain. All you do was go to the "seminar" and
have an "R" next to your name. (Whatever name you choose, that is..LOL!)

4. The local rag which
is distributed free each week to every house in my area sometimes advertises for reporters. They want people with 4-year journalism degrees and some sort of portfolio.

People labor for years at local papers and on small tv and radio stations in remote places in order to gain the experience necessary to move up to mid-size and then possibly big city markets. No one theoretically starts at the top -- unless they are incredibly well-connected.

This reminds me of a story my husband tells about career day back at his high school in LA's San Fernando Valley. Representatives from area employers sent reps, including a guy who showed up from the local NBC affiliate. His advice - forget about a career in tv or movies. Only the well-connected need apply.

Who held the door open for Guckert and why?
