Fascism, the neo-savior of Republican America
by Don Nash, Jan. 4, 2005
Fascism - noun, 1. a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictator. Severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition.*
Does the above definition sound familiar? It should, welcome to the Republican Party for the twenty first century. Stand up and lift your right arm to a 45 degree angle to your body and be sure and keep your elbow stiff. Sing a rousing rendition of ‘God bless the Motherland’ and then pledge your allegiance to the United State of Republican America. Remember to sieg heil our glorious leader.
This then is the brave new world of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Condi Rice, Grover Norquist, Frank Lunz, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tim LaHaye, and Daniel Pipes. There are many, many others that I could have included in this list of treasonous refuse but, for the sake of precious space, I left them off. Who might Daniel Pipes be? We’ll get back to him in a paragraph or so. <snip>
America ends up with fascism and a clown like Daniel Pipes that desires to run an argument for interning Muslim Americans and just holding Muslims in general, in places like Guantanamo Bay for an unspecified amount of time, which is probably for life. Pipes likes to quote Michelle Malkin who is the fascist poster girl of the month. You can actually buy Malkin’s poster from the Republican National Committee. The Democrats wanted to put her poster on sale but, the neo-conservative/evangelical complex couldn’t give the Democrats the terms the Democrats were used to. I’m curious to find out if Malkin spent any time questioning Japanese Americans that were interned during World War II. I have my doubts.
