I told her I would be donating because of Howard Dean and that I hoped they would let him do his job. She also was excited about Dean, and she said she wasn't supposed to talk, but after I brought up Ohio, she let go. I told her that the party better do something about this constant disenfranchisement of black voters. Turns out she was black and she told me she was "so happy to hear that." She worries about the base and it being taken for granted. I told her I adored John Conyers, and I wish Charlie Rangel or someone with real personality and moxie was in Pelosi's position. I told her that the Black Caucus was the most consistent voice in the party. Then I mentioned the Dean-Perle thing and she was happy to find out when it was being aired because she wanted to see it. She told me that she was very afraid of some of the things being done by the Republicans and I told her she wasn't the only one.
She was wary as I am about how Obama is going to develop and we both wanted Lieberman to exit. She was very "confused" about Hillary..."Hillary, I don't know....." Overall, it was a great chat and she was genuinely happy to hear support for the Black Caucus.
